  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Be sure to credit AI when copying and pasting AI sources. Link to the site of the AI search, just like linking to an article.

I've got a strange problem with my web browser. I'm using the AOL 9.0 software along with Internet Explorer to open some pages.

The thing is everytime I open some pages, you can see it loading all the graphics and text and then it just goes blank. This doesn't happen on all pages just certain sites. It happens both within the AOL software and internet explorer.

It happens when I try to do a google image search. I type in what I'm searching for and the thumbnails come up but when I click to enlarge them, it again goes blank.

I can't think what could be causing this.

Any ideas ?

You might have currupted Active X controls. Goto the C: drive and to the window folder and then click the folder called Downloaded Program files and either remove/delete them or just remove the ones that say unknown or the ones the have no name.

I would also get a good Java script at java.sun.com

Let me know if this helps, I also Have Aol and had this program but a little worse then this and tech support couldn't even help me so being a good tech support my self I found the problem my self.

Could it in anyway be like a block or something from the software? The AOl software may be blocking the pictures, so they show it for an instant and then eat it up. You could also try using a different browser, that may help. Also, make sure u have the latest updates for IE, maybe ur IE has some compatibility issue with the software.

Maybe you have one of those annoying Internet Explorer plugins that modifies everything you try to do on the internet, including posting on forums. I think you need to run a good spyware program like Ad-Aware or in particular, Spy-Bot Seek & Destroy. I'm doubting you willingly put all those links in your post on purpose. In your case (as far as I can see at the moment), you've been plagued with the NTsearch adbot.

Ntsearch is a CoolWebSearch hijack caused by using Microsoft's obsolete Java Virtual Machine. This hijack can be removed using CWShredder. Click here to get CWShredder. Once you have it downloaded, run it on your computer to remove NTSearch plus anything else you might be plagued with.

Once you're done with that, you'll definitely want to download and run SpyBot Seek & Destroy. SpyBot looks for and removes spybots and adbots. You can get Spy-Bot here. Granted, SpyBot should be able to handle NTSearch, but I gave you the link to CWShredder because I know that it can handle the NTSearch adbot.

God bless!
