Page count gliche

There is a page count problem is this thread.

Also in the "Can a woman be a pastor" thread in General Theology.

Currently, the page count shows 54 pages, but if you click on the 54, you end up on p. 53. If you are already on 53, the 54 link is still clickable, but just returns you to 53.

I have a hunch now, by fluke (while working with another task).

Does the issue only exist when you view a link by postid, and not by threadid? (Does the thread contain ?p=XXX or ?t=YY )

I'll look into this in more detail tomorrow.

It seems like the system generates a new page for the next post before the post is made..... if that made any sense.

I don't think there are anything on those last pages. All the posts on the last observable page are current posts.

Right - it's hidden/deleted posts that are causing the discrepancy in page numbers.

I thought the hidden/deleted posts stayed in place. When I was a mod (under the old board), the hidden and deleted posts stayed in the position they occupied when not deleted.

This is a custom feature on the board, but yes - they do stay in place. However, when calculating the page numbers and totals, they are somehow still getting in and mucking up the results.

I take it that it's like there's suppose to be a page 2 to this, but there isn't a page 2?

We are going to completely redo the underlying feature that is causing this, so I'm going to mark it as Working as Designed until it's changed.

That doesn't appear to be the same problem, though it could be related. I know I have seen all my posts in these threads after posting in them.

I haven't been able to yet, and I just checked again in one of them (by posting and not seeing it afterwards). I have no clue as to why, but it seems related to me to, to the fact I can't seem to get a view of the last page/post of any of those threads. Nice to know it's not just me?

As far as I can tell I'm seeing all the posts in these threads, just not seeing the last few pages which I understand are empty.
