• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I sit here after reading quite a few posts. I have a lump in my throat. I see Alive again has been blessing others with her encouragment and care.

Today I spent the most time on CF at one time then I have since I became a member in June. As I read thru the posts and added the requests for prayer on my prayer list...my heart started to ache.

My Dad is going to a Province (6 hours away)
tomorrow to have an operation that he may or may not survive ( without this operation the anyerusm bursts and he dies anyway)
Tho I will
not worry, perse, there is a process one must go thru to deal with such a crisis.

I went to an AA meeting tonight and heard such heart breaking stories...

My heart just aches

Thanks for listening. You Friends are a God sent!

Dear WantToBe

The loss of a LOVED ONE is no loss if they are ready to meet the LORD. It is what life is all about.

It is a loss to us but we know in our heart it is part of GOD'S PLAN.

Someday your dad will have to leave this earth. The most important thing we can do is make sure he has the invitation to meet the LORD.

PRAY for him as I have done and then submit to the LORD:

" MAY THY WILL BE DONE "

Never doubt that the LORD ways are just.

Death is a time for sorrow for those left behind but a time of GLORY for those that are the ANOINTED. ( SAVED, BORN AGAIN ) The struggle is over!!! NEXT STOP is the KINGDOM OF ALMIGHTY GOD!!!

EVEN IN SORROW REMEMBER:

X Even though you can't see him, GOD is there!!! O
( click on the x and drag to the O ) ( then see who is with you ) steven

Like you said God tells us not to worry but he wants us to be concerned for our loved ones. The concern is healthy. It helps us to take care of them, to pray for them. I pray for your Dad's surgery and recovery. We have great health care here in Canada, I'm sure he'll have great dr.s and he's got the great physician on his case.

I have taken care of many people after aneurysm repairs and although it is a difficult and challenging surgery most eventually did well. Recently a gentleman in our church had an anuerysm repair of the aortic arch, had very serious complications and is very rarely successful, but he was a church Sunday. Rember God has a plan, no matter the outcome, God is big enough to handle it. I will be praying for you both and our favorite saying recently is "Don't tell God how big your mountain is, tell your mountain how big God is!!!"

Blessings and prayers!

Dear Friends,

I just said good bye to my Dad and Mom. Yes  were shed. But I do have a peace that passeth ALL understanding.

I think yesturday, the overwhelming feeling came mostly from seeing and hearing about all the pain and hurting people I have seen and heard from. My goodness, thank goodness God is SO big. I understand why it rains so much, if the rain is Gods tears!

I just feel so frustrated sometimes when I can't "do" anything for someone. I know that prayer really is the best one can do...but sometimes I want to do more. :sigh:

Thanks for your replies. If Dad does not come back to his earthly home, he will be in his Heavenly Home. NO more sickness, NO more tears and sorrow

Thanks Alive again!

Dad had an aortic arch anuerysm repair in 2004. (The surgen said it was the largest stent he had put in a person.)It really was a miricle that Dad survived! Which we all were and are very thankful for!
He than "wiped" out a few times (without telling anyone) and ended up going under the knife to place the stent back in place. Shortly after this Dad suffered a stroke.
He is 62 yrs old and looks and moves around like an 82yr old ill man.

I am so glad I believe God has a plan. If not for Dad on earth, then in Heaven with his Father!

MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN ANY MOUNTAIN IN MY WAY!
