  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This semester has been the hardest semester I have ever taken...I am taking 15 hours, which is something I have done before, but I am taking 3 senior level classes whcha are just slowing killing me! It seems like almost every week I have at least one test or major project due...I don't have time to breathe or take a break...will the semester ever end???

Has anyone else ever felt this way??

Ah, I know what that's like. Its just stressful!

I would never recommend taking 15 credit hrs not knowing what the course load is like, or the professors, or else you could be in way over your head.

The light at the end of the tunnel is that the semester will be over in December so just hang in there *hugs*

I definintely know how you feel. All I can say is, hang in there. It will be over before you know it, and even if the worst happens and you get bad grades, the world isn't going to end. You just have to do your best and then not worry about it.

I think I felt the way you do this semester last spring when I was taking 15 hours. And that was with 3 accounting classes, so that made it even more tough. So I think I can kinda relate to how you're feeling right now. Just hang in there, don't give up, and I think you'll wind up doing just fine.

I've certainly had that kind of class load and then some. Typically in undergrad, I had 5 or 6 classes (3 hours each per week). And of course, most of them also had labs, so add another 2-4 hours per class per week for those. Then there were assignments and lab reports for each class that had to be done on my own time. Once I got past my first year, almost every class I took was an upper level class. The good news is that it does indeed eventually end.

I know what you mean. I'm taking 15 credits this semester and I know I have just a few more weeks left in this semester, but I can't wait till it's over.

I'm a freshman, and it is overwhelming for me. I have a test every Friday in one of my classes, a paper due every two-three weeks for another, and on top of my classes, I work with the school newspaper too and I have to write an article every weekend in order for it to be published the following week.

I recieved a low grade report in three of my classes.. I've never had such terrible grades in my life! I've always been a good student acedemicly. I might get tested for a learning disability too since the tests are what really what are pulling my grades down. I was never good at taking tests.

I can't wait for this semester to be over.. :sigh:

I certianly know what it is like to feel overwelmened. I am unsure of what type of degree you are doing, but I found upper level classes less stressful than lower level. In upper level classes all I had to do was one paper and two exams for most classes, compared to assignments every week in first year level classes. As well, I had better study habits in my last years of Uni than in my first. All I have to say is just hang in there and before you know it it will be Christmas holidays.

yes! I know what you mean. One semester I took 17 credit hours. Among the classes was intro to philosophy and statistics! blah, that semester was bad, but I pulled away with all A's.

It can get tough, but try not to procrastinate and you should be good, at least I usually am.
