• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Sadly, many dear ones are encumbered with troubles and uncertainty, but there really is hope if one is serious about a solution. The common way is to feel sorry for self and dwell on oneself, but God wants us to look up faithfully.

Here is a simple remedy which speaks of salvation of our soul, eternal security as a "child of God", and blessings along our pathway. To benefit from this remedy one must be serious and ready to give their heart to it.

“The essential need for serious seeking souls, is to 1) Find God and His way; 2) Believe on Him and receive Him; 3) Trust Him and obey Him.
1. Often, the many questions people raise about God is a challenge against God to prove Himself. That is gross foolishness, and will profit nothing. He does not need to prove Himself, and will not yield to challenges. He can be found in His immutable Word by faith and logic, which He gave us, and His ways are set forth therein (please read Matt. 6:6 and Acts 17:24-27 and Jer. 29:11-13). Our ways and ideas and religions is not God's ways (note Jer. 55:7-9). It is foolish for simple man to presume to be greater than the Creator, and expect Him to reveal things that are too far beyond our finite ability to know; so if that is not appreciated, one is thus choosing to go forth in spiritual darkness with their own reasoning and various religions.

2. Believing about God is not the same as believing on Him; and also knowing the teachings of God through His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus, is not the same as receiving the Son into one's heart as the Savior. Knowledge and reasoning will not save a soul, but faith in God's promises will (read John 3:16 & 35-36). The simple truth of eternal hope is that one must receive and be devoted to the Savior --the Lord Jesus, for salvation and blessings. God will then make that one alive unto God and sealed by the Holy Spirit forever as a "child of God"; and open up understandings to many spiritual truths. This is the essence of eternal life and blessings.

3. One might think they have a relationship with God because they go to church meetings, or know some verses of the Bible, etc.; but one does not have a relationship with anyone by reading something about them. If one knows the Savior personally and the truth of salvation, then they need to act on that in a personal way by faith to establish a relationship, and to enjoy communion. Then they need to obey the truth of God and keep His Word --"no man cometh to the Father, but by Me", the Lord Jesus said. The Gospels present the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and shows His expectations of man, His pathway as ordained and given to His Apostles, and His sacrifice for our sins on the cross. Is one thankful for that? The Epistles explains the gospel, shows God's work to establish His church --the living body of Christ which is all true believers; and the life in the church as we walk through this world. If one does not value the Word of God and does not obey the Word, but follows his/her own ideas or religious preferences, they will stand in judgment for that before God one day. We all need to read the Word of God daily.

So, one needs to fully embrace these things to overcome our flesh and the deceit of the world, for God’s great blessings. - RLD"
