The grace of God flows through the Sacraments, Ex Opere Operato. If you are in habitual sin, you need the sacraments more than ever. The Eucharist can cleanse us of venial sin and reduce our concupiscence or desire for sin, so frequent if not daily Mass would be a good start. If you are trapped in mortal sin, then you need to make a good confession, then receive communion as soon as possible before you fall into mortal sin again. This will strengthen you to endure.

For further study, I also highly recommend The Spiritual Combat and Treatise on the peace of the Soul, by Dom Lorenzo Scupoli, if you require reading.

Jesus said, unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you. I can personally testify to this, as it has broken my old habits, and the Lord is merciful
Amen.

Thank you.

I don't know about others, but I find on (those rare) occasions I get to reconciliation, I end up confessing the same old pet sins every time.

I think most of us have weaknesses in certain areas, while we may not have much trouble with other sins.

I could take a repeat shopping list of pet sins with me when I go to confession, and just tick them off one by one.
I'm the same way. Lord, have mercy

It is good to see old faces, when I left it was not on good terms, but it was right to leave. I came back to see what is here and to testify of God’s mercy. When I left I had what is termed a doubtful conscience. I was not convinced of the truth of all Church teaching. The environment here at the time only increased my doubt, as no one could give a rational explanation. I was told believe or else. I was labeled a modernist and went away.
My doubts however did not diminish my search for truth. I ignored it for a while, but only through God’s mercy that I found the explanation I was looking for, and I am embarrassed that I ever doubted.
The Catholic Church is the fullness of truth, though many are trying to take it away. Stay strong, fight for the truth, pray for the Church

Words are so different from the graces of the Lord.
So hard to explain what only the Lord can fill us with.
God bless you.

We tend to be harder on ourselves than God is.

Whatever you're struggling with, a priest once told me that I would struggle
all of my life with this.

Just keep on going and know that Christ came and gave us salvation while we
were still sinners. The same is true for out our entire lives.
