How has COVID-19 affected everybody's life? What are biblical ways to overcome the effects of COVID-19?
We've lost family members and friends. We're just starting to be more socially active again ... family members traveling to see another for the first time in 2 years. Our church is just starting to meet again. We're adjusting to economic changes caused by the pandemic.

We're grateful to God that He brought us through ... and dependent upon Him to continue to guide us. For those with long-effects from COVID, we look to God to heal those effects.

When we were initially faced with the threat of pandemic, ... many christians in my area hearkened to the following words of scripture ...

Isaiah 26:20 My people, go into your houses. Shut the doors behind you. Hide yourselves for a little while. Do it until the Lord’s anger is over.

And, of course, Ecclesiastes 3 also gives guidance for enduring calamity ...

1 To everything there is a season,
And a time for every purpose under heaven:

2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;

3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;

4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;

7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;

8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

First be with God, and do what He has us do. He always has His good to share with us, and good and creative things for loving each and every person . . . especially in sharing with our brothers and sisters in Jesus. Always, He has His way made for His loving. And keep growing in Christ so we are "conformed to the image of His Son" - - - Romans 8:29, Colossians 1:27-29 . . . so we are ready to share eternity with God.

Oh, and practically . . . I could see a lot of people were being impressed and worried about the COVID thing . . . partly because of "fear of death" which Satan uses to make people his slaves > Hebrews 2:14-15 in "torment" (1 John 4:17-18), and also because ones have loved their own lives, and Jesus says, "He who loves his life will lose it," in John 12:25. So, I understood how a lot of people were losing their lives, not only by dying, because all along they had not been investing in submitting to God in His peace, and loving any and all people. So, now they were losing their lives which they had been rigging for getting what they want.

So, I needed to be kind to people and pray with hope for them, and not go along with the blaming and accusing stuff, but get real correction from God and pray this for others.

And simply do what our Father guides us to do, practically. Because He is the One who knows what is really going on and what is really true. Anyone can rig information and evidence to get people to do what they want. So, I understood I needed to simply submit to our Father in His peace with His creativity, and enjoy discovering how He pleases to do things.

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

Oh . . . and by the way, Tehila of Israel :) - - - welcome to Christian Forums :groupray:

I've lost a family member, a member of my church, and a former student. I'm thankful that it has been so few. I caught it myself last August. My sense of taste and smell is still off but it did return, just some things no longer taste or smell good to me. I also experienced prolonged weakness after I recovered. Just time and exercise is really all anyone can do. Thinker and Com had great responses of scripture though to answer the rest of your question for biblical answers :).

I agree with the posts already made here!

Just to add, one thing we became more aware of was elderly, vulnerable and lone people in the church, especially so at the peak when we weren't allowed to physically meet together (many in this group also had no internet access). We tried to keep in regular, even daily contact with many as restrictions would allow.

'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40)

God Bless :)

I caught COVID along with my family back in October. We were all rather mild, my children had it even more mild than my wife and I did. I wasn't even in church back then and can see how God had been shielding us. I'm thankful. I think the biggest biblical manner to deal with COVID (and any sickness) is to trust that Yahweh is in charge. Sometimes his plan doesn't align with ours or what we believe it should be, but ultimately his plan is supreme.

How has COVID-19 affected everybody's life? What are biblical ways to overcome the effects of COVID-19?

Between countries there were different policies instituted …so I am not going to make any comparisons. And as individuals we are all different and handled the inconveniences accordingly.

From what my friend told me, Israel had a much stricter and stronger enforcements at the onset of this thing….because no one (sense knowledge wise) really knew what to expect and therefore extreme precautions were instituted.

Individuals cautions and precautions ran the charts with fear (trust in government and news) at one end and faith (trust in God and the Word) at the other.

Since you are asking about individuals, I am not going to be very relevant regarding information. Others who have been through more catastrophic times… suffering loss, succumbing to Covid, and or side effects from the poke may be able to contribute to what you are looking for.

From the onset of this virus, even before I saw the lie from Fauci (regarding masks) I instituted my own policy for my life.

I decided I was not going to change anything or succumb to the fear motivation perpetuated by the news media. And there were a couple of times it was a battlefield in my mind, where I would catch myself starting to listen to the world and I had to bring myself back to the Word and what I believed….The just shall live by faith …that was where I stood, and stood firm. I was also ready to suffer the consequences if I didn’t believe…but like Shadrack Meshack and Tobedwego…I may burn…. but I would not bow…..and I didn’t

There were inconveniences…. certain places had mask policies, which I tolerated, otherwise no mask. As for any lockdowns and social distancing …. no way. I did buy a burner phone to avoid any contact tracing and left my phone at home. Since I coordinate home fellowships, there was not an interruption with weekly services….. although locations were changed to more remote areas. As for the vaccine, I think you know the answer to that….although, I never discouraged nor encouraged others …. do what is necessary for wherever your believing is at.

During this time I would visit people who had covid…. even stayed at someone’s home who had covid taking care of them for 2 weeks.

Bottom line …. Either God Word means what it says and God will back up his Word ….or it’s a lie. And if it’s a lie (which it is not) what the heck are we doing?... Conversely, if it’s not a lie ….What the heck are we doing?

Thanks for thoughtfully sharing your experience and how you overcome as you went/go through the pandemic. It's very true that we had strict policies and persistent vaccination campaigns in Israel. Social distancing, masks, lock downs, quarantines and limited travel have disrupted our lives. Isolation was one of the hardest to battle. So, people get from denial to depression to androphobia, haphephobia and all other kinds of phobias. I for one went through these experiences but God is always faithful. 1 John 5:4 says, "for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. It'd true brother, God's Word is alive and and true. Our only hope in this hopeless world!

How has COVID-19 affected everybody's life? What are biblical ways to overcome the effects of COVID-19?

Hmm we know people (very close friends) that lost someone to covid. Affected our life? Hasn't changed our life at all. God still is on the throne and I will not be moved. His words He still keeps PRAISE GOD GLORY TO JESUS! As in Isa 53:5, Psa 91, 1st Peter 2:24. Said this many times watched a prophet June/July 2019 where God told him a pandemic was coming world wide and the unscrupulous will take it vantage of it. I just today saw on the news how BILLIONS went missing as in fraud.. the money that was for covid :)

I do read fear.. again God can not does not lie..God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind. Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation with prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Then Jesus said He left us His peace not as the world gives give I unto you. We don't have any problems all we need is faith in God! You asked.. this is what I do believe.

Quite certain, God's judgement will appear mightily upon those guilty of causing unneccesary suffering and loss of life due to the forbidding of early treatment. Lest repentance comes before Him.
