• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello..
I wanted to post here because I have experienced sexual assault. Actually I was date raped. I used to be called a survivor, but God has called me an overcomer. I used to be called a victim, but God has called me a victor.

I wondered and pondered, "Where WAS God during the experience"? I DID receive an answer to that question.

I am a minister and have been for over 20 years, but that does not make me immuned to any experience on earth. In fact, Ive had my fill of much. Ever watch the movie Peter and Paul? Great movie and really brings to life the persecutions and difficulties of those apostles.

Anyway, with just that said, I would offer testimony or to listen to anyone who desires to connect with me any time. I can certainly pray as well. It had been so liberating to me to just be able to "vent" and bring up all the stuff so I could let it go, that I always encourage everyone to do just that. We dont live in the past, we learn from it..but in order to heal the wounds we experience we need to really cut them open or allow them to stay open long enough to get the stuff out of us and then God can heal it all. He takes up our wounds and He can create a healing that is far better then anything of this world. He will create beauty from our ashes..

You mind sharing your testimony with me? See I was sexually abused myself. I was molested by my brother for about 8 years and a neighbor for 2. I have a thread going with some people helping me deal with stuff. I'd really like to hear how you overcame everything. I wonder every day where God was when everything happened to me for as long as it did. God has called me to the ministry. Which was completely life changing in itself but thats a story for another time. I'm not healed from my past and I know I won't make a good missionary or good youth pastor or whatever it is I become until I am fully healed. I think hearing from you would be extremely helpful. So if you want to PM me or just post here.
