  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

31st March 2003 at 12:15 AM sunshine said this in Post #13 I can tell you people are getting paranoid here, like wearing masks on public transit and such.

They would be better to cover their hair. You wait and see how many muslims catch this virus and I will bet that it will be less than non muslims, because the women always cover their hair.

The virus and germs gets in people hair and if they do not wash their hair before going to bed they will get on the pillow and the people will breath them in.

I have a problem with my skin and bacteria. It is not uncommon for me to run my pillow or blanket through the dryer to kill any bacteria on it, if I am getting itchy. Or my couch in living room is vinal, sometimes I will clean it with rubbing alchol to clean any bacteria off of it. Otherwise my skin will break out.

So many times I have seen people who are caughing and sneezing from a cold and I will look and their hair is filthy with what is making them sick. I tell them if they will keep the outside of their body clean, the body can more than handle whatever gets on the inside of them.

Over the winter people were really healthy this year. Almost no one got sick. But now that the warm weather is starting up again, we are having to start to worry about this stuff again.

It could be an act of bioterrorism, or it could be natural causes.

I have been preparing for this for a year now and I have run lots of experments. Steam cleaners for example are worthless, they create a climate for germs to breed in. The germs love warm moist air. Anti bacterial soap does nothing for the skin, because it takes 10 min. to work. But it does keep the sink and the bath tub free from germs if you use it. Even if it did work on the skin it would dry the skin out, and that is not good. Dove soap is fairly inexpensive and it will put a moisturizing lotion onto the skin. Cetaphil is better, because it will cause the skin to actually hold onto the moisture, but it is very expensive. Poor people can not afford it. Rubbing alcohol is the best thing to clean with. It is a petrolum by product and is extreamly cheap and extreamly effective at killing germs, fungus, mold, bacteria and virus. If you wash with it, then wash it off right away so it does not dry out the skin. Anti fungal hair shampoo can be used on any area of the body and is effective at getting rid of any fungus and mold. I do not know if it will work on bacteria or virus. Hair dryers are real nice to, they will cook any virus or bacteria right out of your hair.

The washer and dryer is our best weapon, because it will kill off 95% of anything and everything. But a lot of it is killed off in the last 10 min in the dryer. So do not be to quick to remove the clothing if they are still damp. Sometimes if something is clean but it has some bacteria on it, I will just cook it in the dryer and not bother to wash it. We keep a plastic cover on our mattress and wash the bedding every week or so. Every two weeks I will wash the mattress pad or just run it though the dryer to cook it and clean the plastic cover with rubbing alcohol. It cost pennys and takes less than a min.

It may sound like I have a phobia or I am paranoid, but not really, my skin really does break out from bacteria. I have been around some people who were covered with bacteria and I will look and have counted up to 15 little red marks on my skin. But it is fairly simple and easy to deal with, once you work out a system.

At what point can something be declared a plague?  Does anyone know?  With 600 cases in Hong Kong alone, plus it's hitting so many other countries, it has to be getting close, don't you think?

Ezekiel 5:12 'One third of you will die by plague or be consumed by famine among you, one third will fall by the sword around you, and one third I will scatter to every wind, and I will unsheathe a sword behind them.

The Black Plague in Europe spread by the flees on the rats, killed half the people in the epicenter. The aids virus in Africa at the epicenter has struck at least half the people there.

My church is not affraid to go to Africa, we have 100 people there right now for a 2 week crucade. But a lot of ministrys are afraid to go there because of the aids virus.

Our people will be back this friday, so I am sure they will bring with them lots of stores about what God is doing there.

 i hope they don't declare HK as off limit to everyone.... a 14 yr old kid hacked into local newspaper website and played an april fool joke, causing lots of people to stock up on cans and rice. What a panic! and what a relief when the news came out that it was just a joke!

yeah, hygiene becomes the main issue... but how can you avoid it short of staying at home and DON'T touch anything when you go out?
