  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Perhaps it's not so much what he cannot do, but what he will not do.

Quote: Terri "He cannot lie"

Exactly!! God will not - cannot SIN!! It goes against His nature - who He is!!

What does that tell us when we are made in His image and then are born again to take on His very nature.

Romans 8 PRAISE GOD!!!

To me, trying to say God cannot do something is like trying to place some sort of 'restriction' or limitations to Him. Saying what he will or will not do, leaves it open that He can do anything 'cause 'hey' He's God, but whether He wants to do it or not... that's the question.

It's like saying that God cannot move Mt Everest to the middle of the Pacific ocean, not so much that he can't but it's not his nature to do so. Saying that he could, but it would not be according to His perfect will and purpose, would be better.

I dunno... that's just me and wording I guess.

HEB 6:16 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie , we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

I understand what you are saying. Possibly saying He cannot because He chooses not would be best. That would also be good for us to say - I am not going to follow the ways of sin - because I choose to follow the ways of my God!!!

thank you Droobie!!
