For every child of God defeats this evil world,
and we achieve this victory through our faith.
And who can win this battle against the world?
Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God
.”
1 John 5:4-5

Faith sees the invisible,
believes the unbelievable,
and receives the impossible.

Just some thoughts: Phenomenal and dripping-with-truth-and-wisdom quote from Corrie, God's own little "foot soldier".

Regarding "faith", it's WHO we have "faith" IN, that is the bottom line here, and not a "stand-alone" faith, that somehow we have generated and empowered IT, as if it's a separate "entity", apart from the living God.....cuz if that were true, it would be "magic", so to speak, and we'd be akin to Simon the magician, who was seeking "more powers", and of course we know what happened to ol' Simon, amen?

It's ALL about WHO we have faith in that is the bottom line. It's about HIM, GOD, and not "us". It's about our faith IN our God.

As i read 1 John 5:4-5, after verse 4, it references in italics John 16:33 - "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." He assures us that HE has indeed overcome the world, and that THROUGH HIM, we "overcome". As it is written, we can do NOTHING of ourselves. Therefore we have faith IN the ONE who CAN do ALL things, and HAS overcome the world.

A blessed Sabbath to you.

Thank you, Brinny. I totally agree with what you said.
Here's a side note to the author of that statement: Corrie ten Boom.
My wife and I were privileged to go to Amsterdam for Billy Graham's

last worldwide evangelistic conference in the year 2000.
On one of our free days, we got to tour Corrie ten Boom's home. The tour guide
was taking up to the second floor when he stopped on a landing 1/2 way up.
He pointed to the wall near where standing and said that when some anti-christians came looking for her at her home, she was nowhere to be found. That's because some panels on that wall were movable. She had hidden behind the wall and God had kept her safe.

She was a fearless defender of those that government/regime were hunting down, and hid these hunted ones in the "hidden places" ov that house, and "righteously lied" to the soldiers to protect and hide them. Rahab also comes to mind, as she hid the Israelite spies, and "righteously lied" to protect them from the king's soldiers. In return, God deemed her "righteous".

Both chose the "righteousness" of God, rather than the "laws of man", which were steeped in wickedness and the blood of injustice.
