  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What may lie behind all this is the thinking that we must help poor people die as soon as possible.

And the thinking behind that might be that our population stock will be improved by rooting out all the low income people who may also be low IQ people.

1. How long will that process take?

2. Will that process actually work and will it make much difference?

3. How selective is letting poor people die as a means of selecting by IQ?

4. Can it help that much if only this country does it?

5. Will this country survive this very expensive and inefficient process?

That is pretty much core to the right wing / left wing battle.

I'd suggest the answers might be:

1. Ten generations, 250 years

2. Unlikely to work because there is a large mix of factors involved. A counter current was evident in the last place I worked at in England where upper management protected themselves by excluding anyone with any intelligence from their ranks.

3. About 1% selectivity simply via the somewhat hit and miss Darwin Award phenomena.

4. No, you can't prevent gene mixing between countries for the required 250 years.

5. No it is too expensive and takes too long to give a significant benefit, if indeed it gives any benefit.
