• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Nothing is an interesting philosophical concept,
Now that's funny ... I tend to call evolution a philosophy as well.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
... and the debate about it is not new.
Right ... now suddenly you guys are going to act like you know all about it, aren't you?
But in this case you might want to notice that is was "you guys" (namely, AV) who brought it up and claims superiour knowlegde about it.
I 'bring it up' when I'm accused of knowing it. In other words, you guys bring it up first, and I just agree with it.
But this also is something "you guys" do: trying everything to shift the blame away from you.
Uh-huh. More like you guys bring it up, then complain when we agree.

Now that is really funny... according to Bill O'Reilly Christianity is also a philosophy. I advise you to listen to him and beware, lest it spoils you.

But I already know what you will say about him, and I really don't care if you agree or disagree with him. Take your grain of salt to whatever you like... just like people do when you "call evolution a philosophy".

Right ... now suddenly you guys are going to act like you know all about it, aren't you?
While this does not in any way follow from what I said, it shows very clearly again the level of your "agreement with us guys".

[And just BTW, I already explained my understanding of "nothing", more than once, here on this forum. Shouldn't take you too long to find them: after all, I only have 10,000+ posts to search.]

I 'bring it up' when I'm accused of knowing it. In other words, you guys bring it up first, and I just agree with it.

Na-hah. You only agree with yourself. You agree with what you think people said or mean... and then you "complain" when people try to correct you.

But in this case I really would like to know: how can you agree with us on the point in question, when you at the same time assert that we didn't understand it?

I've been told I bring nothing to discussions on creationism, and I agree.

I've been told I have nothing to offer, and I agree.

But then later, you'll see someone wanting evidence of the creation events.

What gives here?

When a "date" differs from that expected, researchers readily invent excuses for rejecting the result. The common application of such posterior reasoning shows that radiometric dating has serious problems. Woodmorappe cites hundreds of examples of excuses used to explain "bad" dates.

Show me a single example of this where there is no evidence to support the proposed reason for dismissing the errant date.

how hard is it to understand AV? you stumble in to a thread like a bull in a china shop and say a bunch of stuff with no basis in fact, acting like you said something authoritative and people want you to back it up.

i would guess that the people saying all the things you said are different people, stop trying to make it seem like the same people are saying contradicting things, you have done that before and no one is fooled by it.

stop acting like people are demanding the impossible and use your head for more than a hat rack please.
