  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Other countries are doing it...

Countries around the world are acting on the contents of the Epstein files with charges, arrests. Actual work.

Why is it that this Trump DOJ is opting to not charge anyone?

And please....let's remember that he just hung his greyscale mug up outside the DOJ....so yes it IS his DOJ.

Fundamentally, what is the problem in America that is keeping child sexual abusers from facing justice...ANY kind of justice? I can't quite figure out the exceptionality here.

Also, though this is a significant sidebar, why is it that the DOJ keeps lobbing these absurd revenge cases from the President that he can't win?

I wonder if these two facts are related in some way.

Unwinnable cases where Trump is a Victim: Pursue with great vigor
Millions and millions of documents incriminating him and his rich buddies for sexually assaulting young girls: We just need to move past it.

If other countries are willing to prosecute based on Epstein files, why isn't this DOJ?

Another sterling example of “American Exceptionalism“?

I know many conservatives are pretty disgusted with the DOJ. It's useless.

If you start arresting people from the Epstein files, they could start talking about other people. This could get real ugly. I would love to see it, but I'm not in charge.

That is informative. But now that the Epstine files are public, who do you think should be prosecuted that the DOJ is ignoring?

Oh. You seem to think I have access the same evidence as the DOJ or the justice departments of other countriess.

That information is incorrect. That is why I compared countries and that is why this thread, SPECIFICALLY is asking "Why isn't america prosecuting them?"

This thread, actually has nothing to do with who I THINK should be prosecuted.

Thomas Massie is a Republican who has access to everything. Not sure if you heard his quote....but I think my question is pretty straight forward.

Three people in the last couple of days. None of which are being charged with child sex abuse, but rather things like “aggravated corruption” "laundering of the proceeds of tax evasion" and "suspicion of misconduct in public office". How many Americans should the DOJ have arrested for similar things in the same space of time?

Well, I don't recall who it was who was giving Democrats bullets for sitting on these files for so long and doing nothing.

I also don't recall when Pam Bondi initially said she "had them on her desk".

So, I think your question is kind of a red herring since it isn't based on the 'Same space of time'.

So perhaps my answer to your question is.... Someone.

Now, back to you....why do you think all these two bit countries are able to get charges laid against their people but the DOJ can't seem to muster it?

Is this somehow going to be about overzealous European police force enforcing their laws?

Yes. I actually picked up on that. No need for the repeat. I responded to that. Was there something more to move that conversation forward since my response?

The UK, France and Norway are two-bit countries? Is Canada a two-bit country too? Since this is your thread, you tell me what it's about. As of now you're being really vague.

Ok. I'll try to be clearer:
Why is it that this Trump DOJ is opting to not charge anyone?
Perhaps your answer is that you think nobody in America is guilty. That's a totally reasonable answer.

I guess.

Yeah, I'm sorry, it glanced through one of my feeds and I'm having trouble finding it back.

ARG!!!
EDIT: Sorry. Snopes posted it's bunk and not confirmed to him.

I'm asking you questions that you apparently aren't able to answer. Do I want to see heads start rolling for anything that the DOJ can come up with that has nothing to do with sexual abuse of children per the Epstein files? I'd rather see people getting charged with crimes against children if that's what they're guilty of. That's what we want to see people being held accountable per the Epstein files, right?

If you need the "gotcha" you can always have it friend. I didn't try to cause it wasn't germaine to what I want to talk about...which is hte DOJ. Sorry if you don't like that....but it doesn't mean I can't answer.
I won't...not yet anyways. I don't want the topic of this thread to get wrested away from me.

Ok. Fair enough.
To be clear:
You don't care about certain charges that could be laid against these people? Which charges should they be exempt from?

I appreciate your focus on wanting to prosecute crimes against children but what, say, financial improprieties or are you okay with these men committing or perhaps that nobody needs to bother to investigate?
Essentially, why not both?

I think crimes against children should take precedence and come first before any other charges.
