• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was just wondering if there were other Catholic forums out there that people know about, and which are of the same technical quality of this site?

Yes, you can find an excellent forum for Catholics at

No doubt, the above mentioned members have helped me tremendously. :)  Prolly cause they are converts as well... (I think)

One of the best Catholic Forums is Catholic Online at www.catholic.org
They are in the process of moving to a new server so EVERYONE has to rejoin. It looks close to the layout of CF.
It's run by the Benevolent Dictator, Father Zulesdorf...(This is actually how he refers to himself) ;)

I registered at Catholic.org. The pic at the top of Thomas and our Lord reminds me of something my priest said on the Feast of St. Thomas. We all kinda sat there at a loss when he asked this. Did Thomas touch the wounds of our Lord?

Think about it.

The Carmelites of Mary Immaculate care for St. Thomas's hand at a shrine in India. The thought that that was the hand that touched the side of Christ is amazing. Father Anthony, the most blessed man I have had the pleasure of meeting, gave me a medal of the Madonna and child that was made at the shrine by members of his order, and I believe touched the relic. It is a nice reminder that the Apostles really existed ouside of the Bible. It is good to have it hit home.

God Bless,

Neal

The Scriptures do not tell us that Thomas actually touched Christ. In fact, if he did follow through and touch, he would have in essence abandoned his faith. He would have had no need of faith because he would have had physical proof. That's what the priest said anyway, and it gave us all something to think about. :)

To ILoveReggie:

We poor, misguided Catholics tend to get beaten to bloody pulps in the Left Behind world.

In fact, on THIS board, "Left Behind" is known as "The Board Which Shall Remain Nameless" or TBWSRN, or some such derivation thereof.

Peace,
~VOW
