  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've always been partial to the episode of David and Goliath. I've always been 'smaller' in stature and I find a Government Model in .45 ACP to be an excellent 'sling'.

On a rather grim note, there is a certain dark humor in the story of Sampson in Judges 15. I keep thinking about the Philistine battalion commander explaining how he lost an entire infantry battalion to one man. Of course, that one man did have a 'secret weapon'.

I always enjoy the book of Esther. While the Lord is never mentioned directly or indirectly in this book, His presence cannot be missed.

1 Samuel also comes to mind. From the story of Hannah and the birth, audible prophetic call, and ministry of her son, Samuel, to Eli and his sons, to finding out why you never want to name your child, "Ichabod", to the the loss of the Ark and all that happened there with milch cows, golden tumors, golden mice, toppled idols, and why the Philistine priests kept saying, "Daggon" .. ;)

And all this in just the first six chapters.
