Did anybody watch the Oscars?
I haven't watched them in years. Listening to the "Drudge Report" tonight, it sounds like I didn't miss anything again this year.

When is the general public going to wake up and realize that the whole thing is a joke?

I never really saw the point in these 'award' ceremonies for actors, I think its just a way for celebrities to get more publicity.

I saw the last 10 minutes. I liked the Jamie Foxx acceptance speech for best actor.

I disagree. The Oscars are not a joke, and I watched them this year.

the oscars have no purpose except for:

1.) beautiful rich people to flaunt themselves in outrageously expensive dresses and suits
2.) for big clothing companies to advertise their gear (Gucci, Armani, Prada, D&G, Oscar De La Renta, etc)
3.) publicity for actors and actresses

basically, meaningless for any one making less than $500,000 a year to watch the Awards ceremony.
