Are people really that surprised by this? There are people in the world that hate the United States. They view the men that hijacked those planes as heroes and martyrs, valiantly dying in the battle against the evil Imperialist Western devils.

Keep in mind the Taliban murdered thousands before we arrived and their treatment of women and children was horrendous.

Personally, I'm sorry for ALL those who died as the result of a few hateful people acting on 9/11/01. That includes the innocent people attending a wedding in Afghanistan and the other Afghanis who died as well as the innocents in the WTC and on the planes.

I doubt anyone here would disagree that it's a tragic thing that so many died as a result of this act.
