Another one to consider is a seminary under the Carpatho-Russian diocese, Christ the Savior Seminary in Johnstown. It's emphasis is expressly on producing priests who are effective pastors. As a result, it is not so much scholarly as it is practical. The Carpatho-Russian church is growing rapidly, and we are very happy there.

Tell your reasons why, guys?

Well first off it's in my state. good ol' PA.

secondly, My spiritual Father went there, our chior director went there, and we have a seminarian going there now, and they all say wonderful things about St. Tikhons.

Thirdly, I know that they teach Orthodoxy there. I've heard some horror stories about other seminaries and I wanna stick with what I know.

Lastly, I'm in the late vocations class right now and according to my spiritual father (He's teaching the class) his notes for the class are straight from a teacher there, Theodore Heckman, And I would like to have him as a teacher.

Don't want to forget the small but effective and wholly Orthodox St. Herman's My parish priest is a graduate. They are heavily liturgical, and Alaska is the birthplace of American Orthodoxy!

I ALMOST went to Christ the Saviour Seminary. I was accepted to attend, but then things happened that made it clear to me that I shouldn't try to go to seminary again (remember I already spent a year in Roman Seminary).
