I am very interested in learning other ways to say popular Orthodox phrases.

Such as, how do you say the following in other languages?

Lord, have mercy.

Glory to the Father, and to the son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Holy, holy, holy.

Glory to God!

Glory to God for all things!

Thanks, Andrew! Unfortunately, simple transcription (and transcription is not simple - there are quite a few ways to transcribe) doesn't help the average Joe in pronunciation very much. Personally, despite all my experience with european-style transcription, I can't stand the Germanic use of the letter J as we use the letter Y.

I can offer more detail on Russian, anyway:

Господи, помилуй.
Gospodi pomilui
(GOHS-puh-dee pah-MEEL-wee)

Слава Отцу, и Сыну, и Святому Духу, ныне и присно, и во веки веков.
Slava Otsu i Synu i Svyatomu Dukhu, nynye i prisno i vo veki vekov
(SLAH-vuh aht-SOO ee suh-EE-NOO ee svih-TOE-moo DOO-(k)hoo, nuh-EEN-yeh ee PREE-snuh ee voh VYEH-kee vyeh-KOHV)

Святый Боже, Святый Крепкий, Святый Безсмертный, помилуй нас
Svyaty Bozhe, Svyaty Krepky, Svyaty Bessmertny, pomilui nas
(svyah-TEE BOH-zheh, svyah-TEE KREP-kee, svyah-TEE byess-SMYERT-nee, pah-MEEL-wee nahss)
http://www.liturgy.ru/php/salt2.php?alt=lt26

Problems still remain, as some sounds don't exist in English and musy be learned - ы (uh-EE), х - between 'k' and 'h', like a vampire hissing, e - is always pronounced with an imaginary 'y' in front of it - thus, "нет" is pronounced, "nyet".

in arabic, this is how I'd say these things - and i'm probably not pronouncing them exactly right.

lord have mercy - ya'rab errham (the rr is rolled)

glory to the...
Al mesjdil il-Abi wal-Ibni, war-Ruach-il-Kudoos, al'aani wa kul'lawaanin wa ila dahrid-dahirin, Amen.

holy God....
kudoosoon Illah, kudoosoon Il-Kawee, kudoosoon il-adhi la yamowt irhammnah!

oh and "Holy holy holy Lord God of Saboath" is something like

kudoosoon, kudoosoon, kudoosoon, rab-u-saboath...

I know how to parrot 'more honourable than the cherubim' too but wouldn't know where to start trying to write it...

Can you guess what language this is?

Hint: the bar above the vowel means that the vowel is just lengthened.
The / '/ is a glottal stop. Otherwise, it follows the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet).

Ho‘onani i ka Makua, ke Keiki a me ka ‘Uhane Hemolele: mai kēia manawa ā mau loa aku, a i nā wā a pau! ‘āmene.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit: now and forever, and unto the ages of ages! Amen.

Matrona's transcription with 'ay' instead of 'eh' could be a better choice.

These languages are no major Orthodox languages but still regularly used in Orthodox services:

Lord, have mercy.

Finnish: "Herra armahda"
Swedish: "Herre förbarma dig"
Hebrew: "Adonai rahem"

Glory to the Father, and to the son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Amein."

Holy, holy, holy.

Finnish: "Pyhä, pyhä, pyhä"
Swedish: "Helig, helig, helig"
Hebrew: "Qadosh, qadosh, qadosh"

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us

Finnish: "Pyhä Jumala, Pyhä Väkevä, Pyhä kuolematon, armahda meitä"
Swedish: "Helige Gud, Helige Starke, Helige Odödlige, förbarma dig över oss"
Hebrew:"Qadosh Elohim, Qadosh ha Gibor, Qadosh Hei ha olamiem, rahem aleinu"

---

My favorite in Finnish is: "Sinun omaasi Sinun omistasi me Sinulle edeskannamme kaiken tähden ja kaiken edestä" [seenoon awmahsee seenoon awmeestahsee meh seenoolleh ehdeskunnahmmeh kiekehn takhden yah kiekehn ehdestah], = "Thine own of Thine own we offer unto Thee on behalf of all and for all". Both the meaning and the way it sounds is very beautiful. :)

What is the Jesus prayer in Greek? I heard it, but I am not sure how to spell it. Anyone enlighten me? Here is my feeble attempt at spelling it... :p : Kyrie isu christe, eleison me.

Κύριε Ἰησοῦ Χριστέ, ἐλέησόν με!
Kyrie Iisou Christe, eleison me!
