  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm also curious. Do you not evangelize much?
If you read through this thread, Conversions to Orthodoxy, you will probably notice that few if any came to Orthodoxy through what most protestants would call traditional evangelism. Some came upon Orthodoxy by chance, had their curiosity piqued and started reading what ever they could find. Others felt themselves literally driven to the Orthodox church. We've all given Orthodoxy very serious investigation before coming to the point where we had no other choice than to seek entry into the ark of salvation which is the Orthodox church. I personally believe we were led here by the Holy Spirit :) but what do I know.

Another really good site which gives a good overview of Orthodoxy is this site.

You can also read the whole text of the book "The Orthodox Church" online here.

Thank you for your questions. I'm sure you will have many more to ask after reading the sites you have been given so feel free to ask. Actually, I think you are allowed to ask questions in the Christians only sections of the forum, just don't debate the answers you are given ;). If you feel the urge to debate you can always start another thread back here :D

God bless,
John
