  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I agree with the Orthodox stance on infant baptism then. My denomination (Reformed) also baptises infants, not remove the penalty of sin, but to enter them into the visable Church community. We call this covenantal baptism.

This does not 'save' them...however, I do not think infants are sentanced to hell anyway. Saving Faith comes after acceptance of Christ.

Orthodox believe that baptized and unbaptized babies alike go to heaven when they die. Baptism doesn't save the child it just serves as a seal of the promise and gives the child access to the promises that Christ made to His Church. After baptism the child must still come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and understand the truths elucidated and defined by the Church.
