If they lived in the Middle Ages they would still be paying penances and going to confession. To them a difference of opinion means heresy yet they admire the Reformers, easy thing to do 600 years later when the hard work of debating has been done by others.

Granted, we could allow people to question what we believe, but if a pattern can be seen which discloses proselytizing against those beliefs, then those who are responsible for doing this should be banned from our forum as they are only trying to be disruptive and antagonistic.

IE. ..they can question our beliefs, but not if they are doing it too well.

Woob, no one will be impressed by you withdrawing into your bunker to protect your beliefs from Scriptural discussion. And all you would succeed in doing is moving the conversation to the progressive forum.

I don't share in Woob's paranoia but I do agree that we should be careful not to give the impression that the SDA church has the corner on teachings that may not be entirely in harmony with what the Bible teaches. Many generally held Christian doctrines fall into this category and are held by some who may be opposed to select teachings of the SDA denomination.

Fair enough.

I am debating Adventist issues because I have an interest in them.

I do not say that the Adventist church, or any church is not used by God. Nor do I say that they all have correct doctrine on all things.

But the rules permit us to discuss what the Scripture say.

We have addressed this issue before. However, apparently talking about locking people out (of our own area no less) warranted flaming RV's and a locked thread.

I think they are getting desperate cause the average member in the pew is becoming suspicious of all these new books coming out with the prophet's name as the author.... how can one write a book when one is dead?

The Progressive sub-forum is still independent of the main SDA forum FSGs and can make its own FSGs.

The only thing they could do is censor debate in the Debate sub-forum. I don't know why they even wanted to have a debate sub-forum when they didn't really want to allow debate there, though.

The PSDA forum is subject to site-wide rules. And as long as we connect the rules to what the site-wide rules state we are allowed to implement the PSDA forum will likewise be subject to those rules.

And by the way, no non-SDA has a right to vote on anything in here when it comes to making up the rules.

So don't let the formers fool you. You have more control over what goes on in here than they want you to see you have. You just need to group together and put it to good use!

They made their decision to leave our church, and when they did that they lost their voice in here. For now they will do whatever they can to try to push their anti-SDA agenda, but with the help of everyone in here we can surely put a stop to this.

A. We don't have a voice in the Adventist section and didn't claim to.

B. Actually it is not false. This sub-forum is a congregational area. it can make its own guidelines. It is grouped into the Adventist section because it is obviously Adventist. In the same way the WOF forum is part of the spirit filled section but still has its own guidelines. The progressive section declared independence and has that independence. It has its own wiki, its own guidelines etc.

So now the question is Woob, why do you want to tell the progressives what to do?

People continually allow themselves to be snowballed by him, open up thier arms to him, chastise those who call him on his dysfunctional behaivor and then the forum suffers the results.

I have just about had it with this continuing cycle. What does it take for some definitive action to finally be taken against him?

it is not enough that he could post in the traditional section, the main section and the d&d section to his hearts content, but no, he wants to come to the progressive section and try to run things here..... talk about control issues.... sheesh...
