CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Organists?

Hey,
I am the assitant to the organists at our church. (which, of course, is just some big words for saying that when she is sick or out of town that I play.) There are a few othe responsibilities, but not much.
What kind of music are you into? High, Trad. Reformed/Evangelical, or modern?
I mainly play traditional Evangelical stuff because that is how I was raised and what I like. Sometimes I play some High Church music. (not too fancy, though. Don't want to upset the deacons and elders!
)
I also play the harpsichord and clavichord. Yeah, I'm one of those big early music nerds.

Sorry I've just now gotten back in and responded. I'm also an assistant-organist for now, at least while I'm in school. I'm like you, mainly into the more Traditional works, because it is what I was raised with. I'm starting to branch out now, little by little, seeing what fits each Sunday, and what people can have enough of
Harpsichord is something I want to start lessons on if I can fit it in my schedule! I think it would be neat to really study. I've accompanied a couple of people with it, but not overly difficult pieces! Take care!
