From the article:

Remember, it is the American Civil Liberties Union which is now behind all abortion on demand, euthanasia, and coming soon perhaps, infanticide for impaired babies.

So which of these 'freedoms' or 'rights' does the ACLU oppose? They admit in court that abortion is the intent to, and results in, the death of a child.

Psst...the one about infanticide.

"Hitler would be a card-carrying ACLU member. So would Stalin. Castro probably is. And so would Mao Zedong."

What kind of a nutjob is this guy?

I dunno, the ACLU is at least aware that some exercises of freedom are harmful. We have no evidence that O'Reilly is aware of the implications of his position. The ACLU has adopted a position on principle with the understanding that it will not always work out as desired, but they have a good-faith belief that defending all liberties is better than trying to be selective.

Honestly, I think they're right.

By contrast, O'Reilly shows no signs of the ability to consider the implications of his actions or positions. The Law of Unintended Consequences is a stranger to him.

In a vacuum aspiration or a D&E [abortion], the physician routinely and intentionally delivers part or parts of the fetus while the fetus still has a heartbeat.

You will never convince me that this, among many other procedures (partial-birth), is not infanticide.

Hey, why stop there? Why not blame them for killing the two kids in Illinois? After all, there's no proof they haven't? As long as we're predicting the future, let's also blame them for the next terrorist attack.

No, I prefer to blame things on the people who actually DO them, rather than on the people who MIGHT do them. "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

We dont get paid unless its a case against the government where the government loses. There are many christian legal organizations that do exactly what the aclu does but for christian cases only. If they win a case against the government they are paid. Other then that we are privately funded.

I don't know why everyone isn't a card-carrying member.

Besides, they've been more than just a little annoying recently, and they won't do a thing I ask, so:

I just knew my ACLU membership would come in handy someday!

Oh, for crying out loud: is there anything Bill O'Rielly won't say to get attention? Really, it is not the ACLU's fault that on-demand abortions during most of pregnacy are legal, even partial-birth abortions. It is the general American culture* which gave rise to on-demand abortion; the ACLU did not come into a vacuum and say, "hey, let's give abortions to all!"
Let's say it all together now: The ACLU simply makes sure that the rights of humans in America are upheld.

And don't Bill O'Reilly and the ACLU have this in common: both support making sure that Americans have full access to all the rights that the American constitution guarantees?

*I am stating America as it is the country in discussion; if the discussion was high rates of on-demand abortion in Australia or China or Canada, it would centre around the culture of that country

If I worried about what O'Reilly said then I might have to also start worrying about what Yahoo Serious, Max Headroom, Falco, Mr. T and the "Where's the Beef" lady all have to say. I mean they are all equally relevant.

I personally don't get paid. I volunteer. The money won off the cases go to lawyers fees. The fact that these individuals went to school and became lawyers yet volunteer a large portion of their time instead of being paid normal attorney wages is why they get money in these cases. If you don't like it perhaps you should pressure your local officals to uphold the laws. BTW this only applies when the government ( state, town, city or county) is being sued not when an officer or person who acts as a government official is sued. Example : hernyaccent vs. the state of new york -lets say in a civil rights case and the state loses.

But to your question : I pay,the400,00 card holding aclu members and you. Where our money infact goes we will never know.

Did you know that last year, the good taxpayers of San Diego gave the aclu $950,000 to settle one of their claims against the Boyscouts of America? This is an unnecessary expense most of us would prefer to live without.
