  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hmmm...I had an orange cat when I was younger. He was an unholy terror, but I loved him anyways. I have no bad memories of him but according to my mom I was scared of him. I love cats so maybe I just blocked all the bad stuff out lol. He was unneutered, and pretty wild, though. We found him as a stray and he never was very happy being confined to inside the house. My mom eventually gave him away to someone who lived out in the country.

My Henry is totally orange, no white. He's the most laid-back sweetest guy you can imagine. I can't say that he's real snuggly, but he does like our kids and follows us around the house a lot. Every once in a while when he wants to play he does go slightly nuts and "attacks" the kids. They don't like that, but I know he's just having fun.

My Sunshine is a sugarpie! She's real mild and gentle. In contrast, FuzzBuzz, my flame point kitty(Sunshine's baby, instead of being orange like his mom, he's white, with red ears and tail and very light blue eyes) is what his name describes, a constant terror in the house, he gets into everything, knocks stuff off tables, desks, etc, and plays rough! Oh well, he's a young male cat. Lara

I have a question or more of a poll. I have an orange cat that is sweet but very high strung. My vet seems to think that it seems in her expereince that orange cats tend to be more high strung, does anyone seem to agree or disagree with this?

That's a good description of our orange cat.

Mmmm... Orange is the best flavor! :D

My sister had a orange cat and it was pretty tame and mellow. I guess he bucks the trend. Too bad he was *too* friendly and decided to say hi to the coyotes. :sigh: Poor little guy.
I have an orange and white tabby named Scamp, who happens to be the most tame, mellow cat out of the seven cats we own. The most "wild" of the two are a blonde flame-point Siamese (Yuki) and a small gray/brown tabby (Gracie).

I think cat temperament is a very individualized thing. :) There are some cats that are just. . .crazy. . .and others that are perfectly sweet most of the time. :)

That seems to be the opposite if my experiences with orange cats. We have one that we got as a kitten and he's very laid back, but he is kind of guffy. He finds weird places to hide and that sort of thing, but isn't high strung. The other orange cat I had, I found as a stray. He never liked anyone, he just ate our food. One day I went out and tried to pick him up, and he let me. After that, he was pretty friendly with most of the people in my family, although he favored me. He was pretty laid back too. I remember giving him a bath cuz he smelled, and that was right after we sort of adopted him, and he never ran off. He did prefere to stay outside, but was extremely friendly for a stray. Oh, and there was another my little sis found. He looked like he had been hit by a car, and never healed properly. He was extremely friendly, and moewed a lot. He wasn't really high strung. So, I dunno. It just seems oppisite. I always thought orange cats were laid back, and lazy.
