  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I got it at Target. It's GE brand. Microsoft ones are at least 2x as much.

You can also get wireless ones that are also optical at Target, as well as wireless keyboards.

Optical mice do not have a ball. According to my guy retrogeek, it uses what looks like a little camera which compares images at one position to an image at another position. When hooked up, the bottom has red lights. So in so many words, it detects motion without the ball using an LED sensor.

Mine is very similar to this one, but mine has black where the silver is in the picture: http://www.buy.com/retail/clearance/product.asp?sku=70009506

For a more technical version of how they work, here ya go: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/question631.htm

How is it on batteries though?
I have a Logitech cordless optical mouse. It is great.... but it goes through a pair of "AA's" in a month or less. When these batteries die I'm going back to the cheapo corded optical figuring to save about $36+ a year in batteries.
Peace of Christ
