• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Eeeeewww...

^_^ Sorry, couldn't help it. Man, I just had a hard time stomaching that guy. But to each his own! ...Or, her own, in my case. :)

My husband and I are fairly similar politically, though I know we'd respect eachother if we differed...probably have some good late-night debates, too, but we'd still respect eachother's views, at least on most fronts. That's part of a good marraige, I think!

As for voting, we generally don't vote R or D...though we probably lean WAY more to the R side (we cannot vote for ANYONE who supports abortion, period!). We like to vote Constitution party whenever we can. :) I know, weirdo's...but hey, I never said I was normal! HA!

Just curious, and I don't want to get into an argument... But I'm wondering how a Christian could vote for Kerry. The bible tells us righteousness exalts a nation. It also tells us that we should place Godly men in office -- because we're supposed to trust God for all of the economic issues. Kerry is all for baby killing - at any stage. And his Senate record is deplorable. He's against Israel. Heck, even Yassir Arafat endorsed him!

So then what about his politics did you like?

Forgot to answer your question - Since my husband and I share the same core values, we want the same thing and vote the same. Not that I have to, we just agree.

This probably is not the proper place for those questions to be addressed...try politics or N&CE. Let's just stick to the question asked by the OP...are you and your spouse poilitical opposites?

Last election we voted opposite each other...this year we voted the same. He realized I was right 4 years ago. ;)

I don't know how you can be on opposite ends of the political spectrum and have things work. Most of my core values go hand in hand with my political leanings--same with my husband. If there were a major fundamental difference in our political opinions, there would probably be a major fundamental difference in our morals and values, and he probably would not have been the man I married. As far as living life, we're complete opposites. I'm loud and spontaneous, he's conservative and thinks things through. He's shy, I'm not...etc. etc. But politically, we walk hand in hand with each other and our morals and values.

Just a quick reply. First of all, if you read the Constitution, the legistalure, not the executive, has the power to make laws (on social issues and other). The executive is to enforce those laws, not make them.

As for "baby killing" AKA abortion, the answer is a Constitutional amendment outlawing it, then a judge can not strike down laws restricting it. How come none of the so-called pro-LIFE politicians have proposed this amendment?

We voted for Kerry primarily because Bush gave up the chase for Bid Laden to go after Saddam. Had he continued the first objective with full attention we would have Osama by now. A Godly man needs to admit his mistakes.

Just wanted to answer the posters question, not start a debate. We can do that elsewhere.
