Back when I was in High School one of my friends tried to get one of the teachers at my school into gaming but the teacher said he doesn't want to be associated with kids who kill. Is that how people view gaming? If so the video game industry needs a massive PR campaign. Do you have any negative feelings on this form of entertainment?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The people who believe video games lead to violence and killing have either never played a game or are incredibly ignorant of what gamers enjoy.

I played the original gta and all it's subsequent versions but I don't suddenly get the urge to grab a gun and start shooting people.

I admit after playing lots of fighting games when I was younger, I started taking tae kwon do, but I never got into any real fights.
I also shot my grandfather's guns (target practice, not hunting) before I picked up my 1st FPS. ^^
ETA: However, after several years of playing online games, my language has gotten "saltier" which is something I need to keep working on.
