1 Corinthians 5:5 (NASB)
I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

This is a description and situation of a Christian, a person who is saved living in open rebellion against God...It is a picture of a child of God choosing to live in sin...

Paul says He has turned them over for the destruction of the flesh....Meaning that as long as they continue to deliberately choose sin over God they are to be buffeted with all unpleasant things...All the storms of life are to be sent their way...Peace they will not know...Security they will not know... Though they may outwardly be a success inwardly they will be the most miserable of creatures... This misery will grow and grow, they can and might harden their heart against it, but the inner misery will grow and grow and become relentless .... Because the gifts and calling of God are;

Romans 11:29 (NASB)
for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Once they have been given they will never ever be taken back....Once, a person becomes a child of God that is an irrevocable thing...They will always remain His child... Though that child chooses to live in sin all the days of their lives to the very end. They themselves will be saved, they themselves have lost all their rewards, but their spirit will be saved....For to the saving of all is God’s desire, He wishes for none to perish so He has made it as simple as can be...Choose Him and once you have chosen Him, He will work in you both to will and to do... And how He coerces one is just like Jonah, He makes their life a living hell tell they turn back to Him...

(And this I know by experience)....

A fellow sinner saved by His unending relentless love, Not me

Hi. I'm going to say this as nicely as I can. A person can still lose their salvation. A person whom is a believer in Christ cannot continue to sin and expect to be still saved. According to the scripture.

Heb 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Heb 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

David preferred for God to punish him. You could even say that it is a warped zeal of the devil to punish us because deep down he knows Gods worth. So God lovingly allows the devil to punish us and hopes that it will rekindle something deep inside him that he lost.

All things work for the good, especially for those who love God.

You have just stripped the spiritual warriors of their shield of faith. How are they going to resist the flaming arrows of the evil one, if they can't fasten (control) their flesh with the fear of condemnation. Not only that, but you have forged a flail out of this shield and armed the devil with it. There's no need to resist temptation, God is merciful and will forgive you he says... as he swings his flail...

We can't fight the devil with only the helmet (hope) of salvation. Despair on account of our sins (the helmet protects us from this) is not his only weapon. There is lust for pleasures, riches and honor, so we need to employ our spiritual weapons skillfully.

And He will most certainly perfect us as prefects over our bodies and its passions when we discipline it accordingly:

1 Corinthians 9:26-28

Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Forgive me if I have spoken out of line.

There is only one weapon and it is the sword of the word of God. Correct application of the word of God is in discerning the soul life from the spirit life.

The belt of faith is a gift just as His righteousness and not our own is, and the rest of the armour is protection against the evil one and his misapplication of the word.

The confusion arises because of the misunderstanding of the word "salvation". Lord Jesus gives those who are born again eternal life. Eternal means just that. Many Christians get it all back to front. Those who are born again have no desire to sin. Many are bound in sin because they don't know how to life in freedom. Just telling them to stop or they will go to hell is not helpful.

I understand what you are saying. If you are born again that means you are no longer a slave to sin although a person might sin if they continue to walk in repentance and have godly sorrow of their sins they will continue to be saved, since godly sorrow is what God wants for sin:

2Cor 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

I'm in no way implying a legalistic manner of salvation since the Bible says:

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

It is possible to fall away and I don't understand why you describe the word salvation in such a way. Salvation means you were saved from something, eternal damnation, in this case. Eternal life is on the condition of having faith in Christ and being born again in the Spirit, but if you keep on sinning and stop repenting of your sins you are going back on your commitment to faith in Christ you will lose your salvation since this scripture speaks of those whom fall away from faith in Christ and bear bad fruit :

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Heb 6:7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
Heb 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Stating otherwise just says a person can be saved and continue to live like a sinner without consequence. Which is false.

There is consequence for sinning - in this life and the next. But it is not damnation. Eternal life is just that. Eternal. The wicked behaviour of the believer in Corinth got him thrown out (if only the modern church was as strong on discipline) but he was not totally rejected. It was a temporary state to bring him to his senses.

It's the opposite of what many people imagine. If a person refuses to quit sinning and thinks a sinful lifestyle is ok, then it is evidence that they were never born again in the first place. In order to be born again, an individual must be convicted that they are a sinner and repent. The new, born again spirit hates sin. Yes, by their fruits you will know them.

The confusion arises because there are two salvations (three if you include the physical body). The spirit is saved instantly and irrevocably. The soul is saved progressively and to the degree that the believer cooperates with God in this life. Obviously there is a great deal more, but I hope you get the idea.

That's a very strange interpretation of scripture. I gave you solid scriptures to prove otherwise, but anyway I will leave it at that. God help you.

Rom 11:19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

The bramble (that was also Christ’s earthly crown that He had refused) was the only wood that would accept kingship (at the time of the seventy)

Hi. I'm going to say this as nicely as I can. A person can still lose their salvation

Absolutely yes, we can lose our salvation! But we can never lose our eternal life or our new spiritual birth.
Just think for a moment, how can we receive life eternal, if it can be lost the next year? Obviously such life was never eternal at all, we were lied to!

New birth happens an instant, a one off event. In contrast salvation is not a one off event, but a lifelong process of change and deliverance.

Consider the prodigal son, did he cease being his father's son when he disappeared far away?
Did he cease to be his father's son when he was eating pig food?

The prodigal was always his father's son, but until he repented and returned, he remained out of fellowship and devoid of the blessings of sonship! He lived far away from his heritage and salvation.

That's what losing your salvation is about, and why we should stop conflating it with being born again. They are entirely different.

Sadly, most Christians never appropriate their salvation till they die. They get born again and then get locked into some religion or other, but that's another story!

Sorry I'm confused about your answer. What does it exactly have to do with what I said?
