  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, I've been coughing a lot, enough to pull a muscle sp I decided to see my OB today. They checked my BP, urine, and swelling. Well, my iron's low, my BP is high (from 110/74 to 139/92), I have mild bronchitis, and I'm borderline pre-eclampsia. Anyone wanna put me out of my misery? lol Then, everyone at the hospital thought I was due now, not July 12th!! Oh, and the icing on the cake, the RN nurse said baby's probably going to be between 10 and 15 pounds!!  So, I'm ready to deliver now!! lol If you could, please keep us in your prayers.
God bless!!

My "doctors" back home noticed my swollen feet and legs plus knew I never had to pee, but ignored it! So I'm really glad to have moved here, these doctors seem to be a lot better!!I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow. I'm on full bedrest, I'm not even allowed to walk around Wal-Mart. :( Oh well, maybe he'll come early. :D I'm ready to be done. lol

Oh! I'll be praying for you! I don't know if this makes you feel better, but a friend of mine was told her baby could be between 10-15 pounds, like you, and he came out as 6! So, hopefully yours will be the same way, right in the middle of healthy birthweight for babies! :)

Eat your protein!!!! Try to get 80g of protein each day....it's really important. Drink adequate amounts of water-and salt your food to taste (table salt is really important-do not limit it-it will make your pre-e worse!)
And hugs, hugs, hugs....hang in there!!
I'm going to try to keep the sodium around 1000mg a day as best I can. I think that's fairly reasonable.I don't actually put salt in my food, ever, I don't like the taste of it. I know, I'm strange. My sodium all comes from processed foods. lol
Thank you!!!

I don't think I'll be that lucky, hubby weighed 9.8 and my birth mom did all kinds of illegal drugs and drank while she was pregnant with me, I still weighed 6.7!! :swoon: It would be nice, though!!

 Aw, I'm sorry you had such a rough appointment! I'm really glad though, that you are with Dr.s that are being more observant and taking better care of you and your baby.

Weight estimates are usually at least two pounds off (from all my experience of hanging around these pregnancy boards and watching the guesses be consistently wrong).

 we're here for you! Keep us updated.

This is a little bit off the subject, but my husband was adopted, and in his papers it says his birth mother played on the high school basketball team up until she had him! She also didn't tell anyone she was pregnant, including her family, until she went into labor! I can't imagine hiding my pregnancy for that long! And he was over 8 pounds, which would definately show...I can barely walk up a flight of stairs without feeling winded or needing to pee, I can't imagine how she played basketball!!

I went through the exact same thing when I was pregnant! Though they were right on target with my son's weight. The key is to listen to your doctors and do exactly what they say! It's so tempting to get out and go to the store or do a little cleaning but I know when I did my legs and feet would be so swollen I could hardly move them let alone walk on them. Plus my BP would always go back up when I was on my feet.

I had my son at 37 weeks via c-section, he was beautiful and healthy and everything worked out just fine! Good luck to you!

Well, I went back today and have to go back again on Monday. Anyways, I have PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension), I don't have protein in my urine. Soo, I'm on high blood pressure meds now along with diet, bed rest, iron pills, antibiotics, and prenatal vitamins.

My OB also said he would be surprised if the baby was over 10 pounds, HUGE sigh of relief!! I'm taking his word for it just because it's easier to deal with. lol

Leanna, I am always looking for good books!! If you want, you can send me the list and a link to your web site so I can order from you. :) I'd rather help another mom than line Wal-Mart's pockets any more. ;)

oh! well thats nice, but I only sell children's books.... and they are great ;) .... but not the right kind....

You should add acidophillus to that routine, in pill form, because antibiotics is likely to give you a yeast infection while pregnant.... :)
:( No grown-up books? Oh well, that's okay. So, what do you recommend as far as reading goes?

I just got over a yeast infection two weeks ago from moving to MS!!

Oh, and I forgot something else from yesterday's appointment, I tested positive for group B strep, so Mon I get to find out what that means. I'm starting to reconsider having a large family. :(

I tested positive for group b strep in my second pregnancy and it is
not a huge deal .... they will give you an IV for antibiotics to protect baby from getting group b strep. It is harmless to you but if baby gets it the baby could get sick. You will want to talk to them about taking off the iv (the tube hanging off) and leaving the heplock (the part where it goes into your arm) if that is something you want to do. I got the antibiotics (about 30 minutes), then they took off the iv and I continued laboring. I had to pull the cart around with me while I walked with the IV and it can be a pain so I didn't want it the whole time. Just don't go in too early in labor and get stuck there where they will want to give you pitocin and stuff through the IV because just having that thing set up will get them all itching to use it.

There might be a way that you can try to prevent pre-e next time, you'll have to ask about that... it would be difficult to be quiverfull with a large family if you get pre-e and bedrest each time.

:sigh of relief: Good, I've been worried that it could hurt him really badly. We're only 15 minutes from the hospital so I probably won't go til my contractions are pretty close together. Plus, my doctor's office is next door, so he or she can be there in no time. Yeah, I don't like having a bunch of meds run through me, or the baby. I don't trust them.

Yeah, I told hubby I want to be done now and we'll just adopt kids til we run out of money. lol He, of course, said no. I will definately ask about that, though!!

 Thank you, Leanna!!
