YAY! im so glad they let you bring him home on the bilubin pad instead of making him stay longer at the hospital. just feed him LOTS AND LOTS now..he needs to poop lots to get those numbers down.

Thank you!! His level now is 16.2 instead of 16.7, but with it being so high I'm worried they'll want him back in the hospital if it doesn't go down quick enough. But they haven't said anything about that.

lol Speaking of eating... he downed 4.5 oz of breast milk this morning!! He's getting soo big, and eating soo much. lol

once it starts going down..it WONT go back up..so dont worry..he'll be fine!! Babies arent in danger till their level hits 21 and he wasnt even close to that. Some hospitals wont even put the babies under the lights unless they hit 17. Are you pumping your milk? what kind of pump. I cant pump more than 2 ozs at a time..its annoying..so i barely pump.

Remi was born on Wednesday June 20th, so they did induce me. They induced at 4:30AM and he was born at 3:10PM. I haven't breastfed him yet cause he's been on oxygen from being born early, but I've been pumpin' away. He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 22.5 inches long, so he's a very big boy. I'm still a bit disoriented so I'll post later. Please pray he comes home soon, I feel like such a horrible mommy being home without my little man.

Yes, the hospital gave me a Medela hand pump and it works great! Now that my milk's come in I can get a good 3 oz at a time. We're supplementing with a bit of formula for now, but I'm still praying we get the actual breastfeeding down soon so we can save some money.

just a suggestion...try strictly breastfeeding for atleast 4 weeks..even 6 if possible..before any supplementing..it will helpd your milk come in better. its supply and demand. the more the baby sucks on you..the more milk is supplied. and remember at 3 wks and 6 wks old they go through growth spurts and will do practically nothing but eat eat eat for a few days..it will seem like they are starvign..but they arent..they are building the milk supply. it sounds like your milk is coming in good..you'll do fine.

Well, we still haven't mastered the proper hold, he can't get comfy, so I'm pumping as much as I can. We usually use formula in the middle of the night so we don't have a bottle to heat up (our bottled water isn't refrigerated). I'm hoping to remember to contact the La Leche League tomorrow to see if someone can help me.

Hey honey, Oh I'm so glad your doing good. Your baby boy is so beautiful. I know you wanna get things back on track with him. I am preg with #4 and none of them have ever been jaundiced. I can't imagine that worry you must have. God bless you.

Definitely call laleche league and have someone help you get his sucking right. they will help. maybe your doing it right and just dont realize it. what makes you think it isnt right? did you see a lactation consultant at the hospital?
