  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Remi was born on Wednesday June 20th, so they did induce me. :) They induced at 4:30AM and he was born at 3:10PM. I haven't breastfed him yet cause he's been on oxygen from being born early, but I've been pumpin' away. He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 22.5 inches long, so he's a very big boy. I'm still a bit disoriented so I'll post later. Please pray he comes home soon, I feel like such a horrible mommy being home without my little man. :(
God bless you all!!!

how many weeks were you when he was born?? did you make it to 37 weeks?

As far as the jaundice goes...dont worry, he'll be fine. Did they put him under the bilirubin lights? what were his numbers? my son Luke had jaundice and he was 14.6 and he stayed 24 hours under the lights and then went home and was fine. My daughter anna had slight jaundice, her number was 11.1 and she didnt even need the lights..i just breastfed her lots and it went away on its own. Feeding and pooping is what they need to get rid of the jaundice...

Why is he on oxygen, were his lungs not fully developed??

Congrats!!

Okay, now for the full story. ;) They started the pitocin at 4:30AM and I fell asleep soon after and slept for a good looong while. The nurses kept waking me to ask if I was ready for pain meds, I was close enough to having a seizure I wasn't allowed to have a natural birth. I ended up not feeling any contractions until I was 6cm, so I told them I'd go ahead and let them do that but no epidural. By 8cm I was begging for pain meds, but still refused the epi. I then stalled at 9cm so my OB left to get an operating room and get prepped for surgery. I fell asleep once again and woke up feeling like I needed to pee, but knew I didn't cause I had a catheter. I then realized what the sensation was and called my nurse in to tell her I needed to push the baby out NOW!! So, she came in, I pushed, and my cervix opened one whole centimeter and I avoided a c-section!! After that, I did ask for an epidural (I thank God I did!!) and my OB came in and gave me the injection. I pushed once and he saw the head and uttered six words you never want to hear when you're delivering your first child, "Good Lord, that's a big baby!!" :swoon: Five pushes later, Remi came into the world and I sat up to ask the doctor if he had to cut me. He replied, "Yes, but don't worry, I'll leave it the way I found it". lol

They let me hold Remi for 15 seconds before rushing him to the nursery. He had a little bit of fluid on one of his lungs and needed to cry to get it off. His jaundice level reached 11 before they put him under the lights and it's peaked and is now going down. So, there's a 99% chance he can come home in a special blanket tomorrow morning!!

Oh, and eating isn't a problem. He at an ounce within an hour of being born and is averaging an ounce and a half now. This morning, however, he at 3 ounces!! We're very proud of him for doing so well and can't wait til he's home with us. :)

Take care, ladies!!
