[OPEN] Could I get some thoughts and prayers?

I have been having a lot of health problems lately. I have a lot of problems with chronic migraines. We have tried 4-5 different medications. All of them have either not worked, or have had terrible side effects. The one I am now is giving me really bad insomnia. I have an appointment tomorrow to try yet another medicine.

I also have a few minor deformities that we are not sure about the causes. So, Thursday, I have an appointment with a geneticist. I'm going to be getting genetic counseling, and in that appointment he will see if I am a good candidate for genetic testing. I believe he will say that I am... I had an appointment like this with a different doctor who wanted to do the testing, but my dad doesn't believe in this stuff and wouldn't let me go through with it. So, now that I'm grown and out of the house, I want to have it done.

Please pray that all will go well; that I will find a balance of medication that works and that I will find causes and answers for my problems.

Well, I don't drink or smoke (I'm asthmatic and allergic to cigarette smoke, so no cigs for me.). As for the junk food, you're not getting that, that's mine!

Well, I just got back from my appointment for my migraines. We are trying a tri-cyclic antidepressant this time, because I am having terrible and strange reactions to the SSRI's. If this does not work, she's going to try me on a medicine most commonly used for those with bi-polar. She thinks I actually have a mild form of bi-polar disorder. Of course, there are no tests for bi-polar, so this is all trial and error. However, if the meds for bi-polar work out, then we'll know. I guess that will be just one more diagnosis to heap onto the pile.

I remember House (Hugh Laurie) when he was on Blackadder...one of the funniest shows EVER...if you can ever watch some of the old episodes do..it'll be worth it...

Well, I had my appointment with the geneticist yesterday. Basically, he said that there is definitely something genetic going on, but he doesn't know exactly what it is. So, he wants to go forward with the testing. To start with, we are doing a blood test, a skeletal survey (taking x-rays of every bone in my body), and a renal ultra-sound. The renal ultra-sound is just a precaution. I have never had any problems with my kidneys, but a lot of times if something genetic is going on, the kidneys are also malformed, and it's not picked up on until later in life when they start having problems.

I appreciate the prayers. Please keep them going. I have over $60 I'm getting ready to have to pay for medicine, and I don't have that money. I'm really worried about my finances at the moment. We'll be okay as soon as Jared finishes the training for his job, but until then, I don't know what we're going to do, especially with all these tests I have to have done. :/

My prayers will be with you. I don't get migranes anymore, but when I did chocolate, coffee or a combination of the two always seemed to help.
