Big Bang breakthrough team allows they may be wrong
"We know that galactic dust emits polarized radiations. We see that in many areas of the sky, and what we pointed out in our paper is that pattern they have seen is just as consistent with the galactic dust radiations as with gravitational waves," Spergel told AFP last week.
Confirmation bias ...
So what is the issue here or point supposed to be? That science is working properly? That evidence is being examined and questioned and when its found potentially wanting that is made known?
This doesn't really help anyone who is against Science.
Not trying to help those against science. Trying to help those looking for actual scientific explanations instead of Fairie Dust.
Yet here we have had 4 straight falsifications of dark matter in the last 18 months (8 in total), yet it isn't questioned even when it is found potentially wanting and made known. Instead they pat themselves on the back and proclaim how sensitive their equipment is for not detecting anything, even background noise.
Except this isn't even a falsification of anything. Its a statement that the data isn't necessarily precise enough or surveying a large enough area to be meaningful. And there's no back patting going on.
It's the arrogance not the scientific method that is at times hard to take.
Sure there is, so much we even had to joke about it. I mean it has to be a joke, right?

Yes, mainstreams arrogance that only they have the correct theories even when constantly failing to match the actual data.
Although I do have a problem with those that claim to follow the scientific method, then treat plasma like it is just dust or gas. Then ask me to have faith in a big bang theory that incorrectly predicted 95% of the universe.
A theory that has over 100 undefined parameters so can basically be made to fit just about anything they can dream up. And now because they can't even get one universe right, they want to throw in multi-verses and blame it on them.
I mean they even considered those voids might be other universes intruding upon our own. That's scientifically valid, but electrical activity in a universe where it has been detected everywhere we have sent probes is not?
The sad thing is that lack of empirical science has crept into geology, meteorology and particle physics too. The other sciences have let cosmology dictate what they see, instead of the other sciences dictating to cosmology as it should be.
I find these "armchair scientists" on this board so funny...
Do you people every wonder why you are ranting about your "theories" on these religious boards instead of giving Nobel Prize speeches or university lectures?
If you think you can do better then the scientists in the field, you are welcome to try... do the work and submit your results for review - instead of ranting ad nauseum about these things on some forum.
I'm not going to pretend to understand a word of these fields of science. I don't have the math background nore the required knowledge of physics to have an opinion one way or the other. So I'll just go with current scientific consensus. You know, the consensus you are ranting against.
Again, if you think you know better, join the flock and do the work.
More worky, less talky.
And yet every prediction made by these so-called experts has been shown to be wrong. Not one or two - but every single one where probes have been sent to take measurements.
Because they are no longer practicing science, but preaching Dogma.
But hey, you go right ahead believing those who have never taken a single course in plasma physics in a universe 99% plasma. Kind of a no-brainer as to who's opinions should carry the most weight.

The problem is that astronomers are constantly guilty of ignoring the *most likely* cause of the observation in question, from gamma rays to polarized microwaves, in favor of their own pet claims.
Even when the bulk of the emissions were shown to be consistent with dust in our own galaxy as seen in Planck images, they *still insist* that there 'may be' some signal from their pantheon of supernatural entities. Its *still* confirmation bias at it's *worst*. If they can't be sure it's not just dust from our own galaxy, they absolutely cannot be certain it's not dust from *outside* of our galaxy!
Even when then talk about gamma rays which are known to be emitted from electrical discharges in bodies in our own solar system, they insist these emissions are related to 'exotic matter'! The confirmation bias is palpable and constant.
It's akin to cold fusion claims. Even when they're *shown* to be wrong in their methods, they still claim that some of the signal 'might be' cold fusion related! What a crock!
Let me point out that they are being intellectually honest here, and admitting the possibility of error. That's a step in the right direction. A very big step. (Sorry I couldn't trim your post down so you could clearly see which part I was responding to)
Even their current claim that the patterns disfavor a dust explanation is an excellent example of confirmation bias. They have *confirmed* associations between dust and those photons, and *no* empirical physical evidence that they are associated with inflation.
