Sorry everyone! Due to lack of interest I've decided to close this thread. Thanks to all those who did participate or expressed interest. I might start this RPG again some time in the future, perhaps on www. ppenn/forums .org, but on ChristianWriters, I think this thread has done its dash. Mods feel free to delete.

Also, I'm all for my players interacting with one another to add more depth to the story and weave subplots throughout. If you'd like to do this but aren't sure how, post in the OOC and see if anyone else wishes to work in with you.

@ White Wings ~ Since Caldera is based on Spain and Spanish custom, I use their naming customs as well.

For example, my character name is: Lorena Sanchez y Álvarez de Bería. That means, Lorena, daughter of Sancho and Álvaro, from Bería. Sancho is her father, while Álvaro is her maternal grandfather (i.e. her mother's father). Usually she simply goes by "Rena Sanchez". (I thought the fact that they used a name from the mother's side at all is pretty amazing.)

And I do have a character, no matter how delayed it might seem...I just started on one then decided that I don't know if I like him too well, so started on another one X_x

And I very much doubt the names ned to be Spanish, just follow the Spanish format. Why set forth such stifling statutes?

Like I said, the culture is based on that of the Spanish, so if you come along with a character named Ping Bong Wang, I'm not going to be too impressed... Basically, if your character is from Caldera, then his or her name would obviously follow the cultural norms. I find such things to be far more realistic and thus they add to the reality of the land and its culture, and people are more likely to suspend their disbelief.

You don't need definite Spanish names, as Mountaindog put forth, but something that follows the format would be good. Add an "-ez" to the end of the father's and grandfather's names and you've got your character a surname.

Your characters can be foreign, but consider: This story is about Caldera, the land, it's people, and it's Hunters. A foreigner would need good reason to be involved.

Of course, if there's one thing I know about RP players, they always think of something... If you have ideas, pitch them to me. I don't mind sending PMs back and forth until we've found something that works.

Remember - *pokes Mountaindog* - new characters for this RP, please. I've seen people try to use the same characters they've had in other RPs and I flat out refuse "used" characters in my RPs. Sucks out half the creativity, I think. (I'm from a writing site, not an RP site, in case you didn't know that. I'm very focused on "writing" aspect of "RP writing".) Of course, I only have your word that you will do so... so I hope you're all honest or I'll make my big white hairy cat sit on you and you'll be lost forever in a mountain of white fur...

Sort of, but she's not terribly seductive. She talks too much and has a bad habit of releasing wind just when you happen to be relaxing somewhere in her proximity... *launches cat at Mountaindog* Catch!
