This RPG is based off of an old SEGA game called Ristar. If you haven't played the game (which, BTW, is for the Genesis) then I highly recommend trying it.
If you've never played the game, you are still more than welcome to join in this RPG. I will give a brief explanation just to familiarize you all with the Ristar universe. If you've already played the game and are familiar with it, you can skip this part.
Setting: The game took place in the seven planets of the Vadji system.
Characters:
Ristar: (Seen in the picture above) is a shooting star. He's very young, which is reflected in his playful, innocent personality. He has the ability to fly at incredible speeds and live without air. These two powers come in handy as he travels through space. He gathers energy to travel at these speeds by grabbing onto poles and spinning around them. To fight his enemies, Ristar grabs onto them with his stretching arms and slams his head into them, thereby knocking out the black minions from their minds and causing them to become peaceful again (or else unconscious).
In the picture above are other characters in the story, which may also be used in this RPG.
Elder: The old guy on the top left is the elder from planet Flora. He has the ability to control wind. He can also cause flower petals to rain down from the sky, hurting anyone who touches them.
Riho: The monkey-like thing to the right of him is Riho. He is one of Kaiser Greedy's minions. When he latches onto someone's back, he completely controls the actions of that person until he is knocked off. In the game, he attached himself to the elder and made him fight Ristar.
Minions: The two below Riho are what Greedy's normal minions look like. The green one, which can actually come in other colors, is virtually harmless. It flies back and forth and, it hopes, hits you. The black thing is the essence of all of Greedy's minions. They fly into the bodies of possibly peaceful beings and possesses them. Or alternatively, they take the form of the solid, colored form I mentioned before. When defeated, these guys fly out and disappear.
Awaueck: To the right of them is Awaueck. He's a large bird from planet Sonota. He seeks to revolutionize the way people listen to music. He loves his music, which is horrifyingly horrible, and hates well performed music. The notes he performs with his music is literally painful.
Uranim: To the right of Awaueck is the robot Uranim. Created by Inonis, Uranim is virtually indestructible. He can lift heavy objects and hurl them. The original model was defeated by Ristar, but Inonis is currently working on a 2.0.
Inonis: On the bottom left is Inonis, Greedy's technical genious, on fixing up one of his machines.
Kaiser Greedy: The two pictures to the right of him are Kaiser Greedy. He is a space pirate, and a powerful wizard. He can create minions to fight for him, and he can also fire lightning from his hands and create black holes.
Story leading up to this:
One day, the evil Kaiser Greedy travelled in his space ship, looking for a solar system to take over. And he happened to pass by the Kadji solar system. Casting a spell over all seven planets, spawning minions to take over the minds of the creatures below. Greedy was soon contested by a legendary hero. But Greedy came out victor and kept the hero hostage.
One planet Flora, the elder and his people sent a prayer to the heavens. This prayer travels in the form of a small light and travels to the son of the legendary hero. The son's name was Ristar. Ristar then traveled to these planets and released the minions from the minds of their rulers.
Ristar was able to defeat Greedy, but Greedy and Inonis escaped as the palace self-destructed. Then Ristar was reunited with his father.
Now, in this RPG, Ristar and his family will be leaving the Kadji solar system to search the galaxy for Greedy. No systems outside of Kadji are actually in the game, so this will give us creative freedom to come up with our own systems, planets, and creatures. Some of these planets, to make things interesting, will be the worlds of other video game or cartoon characters.
Characters may be claimed for use, but characters from the game will be limited to those I approve of. New characters may also be made for the game.
To keep things flowing, all characters may be controlled to a certain extent by all people, but all major decisions of that character are up to the character's owner. And so, when creating your characters, be sure to include a lot of detail, especially on personality.
So, if you're interested, go ahead and post here which characters you want. Below, I will update the cast as it grows.

*Sunny will be the name of Ristar's father. He is not named in the game. Judging from the size of this arms, Sunny is much bigger than Ristar.
**Oruto is a character from the Japanese version of the game. She is Ristar's mother. In this RPG, she will have healing abilities, and limited magic. But she is not a fighter; she's fragile. ***The elder from planet Flora will be in this game. He will be named by whomever decides to take control of him. To give him an excuse to be in the game, we will say he was an old friend of Sunny's and that they fought together many years before.
