Umm...I'm confused. Hunter was holding vai with a knife at his throat. It seems very unrealistic for someone to roll out of a corner like that. Move too much, get cut, throat bleed, become dead.

So, can you edit? It would help my plan to make this a one time encounter...errrrrmmmm, maybe.

Too late, I've already posted. Vai was trussed up so it would be hard for Hunter to hold him up like that anyway. Just move on. Hunter needs to focus on Summer now. And if you want to go for realism then you'd have to edit and put a few arrows into your bandits because Summer is an excellent shot, she shouldn't have missed EVERY time.

But, as I see it, Hunter's no novice. He knows how to hold his bags.

His bandits have bows, too. C'mon, Woffy, it's more fun if the bad guys actually achieve Ultimate Victory once in a while. Fun to write as well.

We'll be gone next week. Technically, my chars should already be there... I'll try to finagle a bit tonight.

This was not to be that sort of encounter. It was to be bandits who just show up thinking they are getting an easy strike. When they find out differently, most bandits will just run. It's just some bungling bandits, for crying out loud! Not Darth Vader or Professor Moriarty! I see I was not clear in what I wanted. Things are as they are now so we just need to play it out. It WOULD be nice, however, if the bandits would give the party a chance to reply before they take other actions. Let's take turns people. Let Kestrel, Nightlord, Fidel, Lock's lil guy and Shadow's girl have some actions before the bandits do any more. The same goes for Summer.

And, oh, those bandits haven't exactly been USING those bows, MD. They tucked tail and ran behind trees, as Light pointed out. If we want to talk reality, it makes no sense at all for a man to go out there, with arrows flying through, and take dead weight in one arm while trying to hold a knife on him with the other. Don't know how much ACTUAL experience you guys have with physical combat of this type, but I've done some rapier fighting in my time in the Society for Creative Anachronism and some of the things people come up with in their posts, yours truly included, are just preposterous.

Point being, let's stop quibbling over the littlest details. Let people get their posts in before you make another and perhaps the whole thing can make sense. The STORY is what I care about most and all of us are part of that. And let's be honest here, if we'd let everyone have their turns to post those bandits would have taken off by now, seeing Vai had heavy support. It's just two skinny rabbits and some potatoes for Pete's sake!

m...they aren't after the food as much as they are vengance for Hunter's dead sister. I planned to lead them off by mistaking a twin (maybe Fidel) for the killer.

Then why would they attack Vai, who in no way resembles Fidel? And please don't tell me they've been following because Fidel JUST met the group and Vai was separated from the party when the bandits arrived. Sorry, it doesn't make sense. Story, remember? Continuity is part of that. For that to wash, they'd have to be after a Vai lookalike. And I'm the GM, I want ALL details. If I'm just a player I don't like to see spoilers. When I'm GM there is be no such thing for me. If that makes me a micromanager, so be it. Not saying you won't get to do your thing, I just want to be sure your plans do not interfere with mine or vice versa.

Listen to the lady on that one, bro. If your character has a goal like that you have to set it up at the start. Especially if you're in deep third person. I thought they were after food, or just a victim.

They were going to question Vai when Summer popped in. In All honesty, I didn't expect her to cover two miles in that little time. I did mention via PM that they might be looking for someone.

If it settles anything, kill them all. Or take them over. Or I can have them all go screaming like girls as summer comes out. Whaztever works.

WoF, I think I love you. I never knew you were in the SCA! I'm not, but I've been doing rapier in my fencing school, and I love it. We're working on dagger right now, but, seeing as I'm broke, I'm a bit behind. How deeply were you into it?

She's right though. That would be something difficult to do. If he were able to stand under his own power, I could see it, but...
Well, anyway, it doesn't matter. For future reference, though, it helps sometimes to literally act out (or pantomime, as certain cases may require) what your character plans to do. It lends for more accurate actions, and it especially helps if you plan to tastefully godmod the results of a fight (or an attack).

Not very deeply, not compared to my friends who are all Barons and Baronesses and Dons and Donas now. I went to a few events each year, averaging one every other month or so. Was given an AoA when Gunthar and Sara were king and queen of Ansteorra. I never did do much in the way of the Arts & Sciences, but did have fun with Heraldry, mostly doing the tournaments and did some time as list mistress. Haven't played for years, but SCA will always hold very fond memories. Oh the stories that could be told! *sighs fondly*

Summer was shocked! Dolemdil was gone?! She had no time to absorb that news, however. She had to act. Quickly, as Vai started rolling away, Summer burst out from the bushes and ran at the bandit who'd been holding her friend. She shouted a Lakota war cry as she ran forward, her face twisted in a menacing sneer. "Woo woo hi ee ah!" she called as she brandished her Bowie knife at the bandit.
