Sorry Wings, but...there wasn't a battle to have Borkeau removed. In fact, he's still "in power" technically. So she wouldn't have lost her family in any dramatic fashion. Also, Borkeau didn't HAVE many advisors, he WAS the advisor. The actual ruler was Kalt Hammer ( a gentleman who was unlikely to have a complicated system of rule)

Constrained to his bed and too weary to even speak, Borkeau could only cough and sputter as his advisors warned him of the oncoming tide.

Then, suddenly, Talaveral struck. Passing out a large number of swords and bows to the growing mass of people around him, he ordered an attack on the city hall. There was nothing the Brute Squad could do but protect Borkeau and remove him from the Hall for his own safety.

Not...exactly. I mean, the Brutes are experts, they personally defended Ember from an army of wizards and elves, I'm willing to bet that they would have quenched any thing that looked like a rebellion so fast you wouldn't have time to draw a pitchfork.

The whole Ember's coup story is totally bloodless, and the new ruler is there completely legally, chosen by the people, and accepted by the large middle class. That's my issue with it, because it gives the impression of a struggle, if any thing Borkeau's group are the "bad guys" in this situation.
