OOC: Avatar - Before Aang

I would like to make an RPG taking place in the world of the TV show Avatar: The Last Air Bender, but this time taking place many years before Aang. This will take place before the dragons were made extinct, and before the fire nation declaired war on the other three nations.

At this time, the bending of the four elements is still a new concept. The world is not united into four nations yet, but world is made up of many smaller kingdoms. But there are two great nations with very much power: Daiki in the West and Kanon in the East. For years, the equal power of the two nations has discouraged war between them, but Lord Cain of Kanon has plans to expand his kindom over all the world.

Up until now, the avatar has been known only as a peace keeper between the physical world and the spiritual realm. But now one young avatar will start the cycle. Airi, a twelve-year-old girl from the small kingdom of Kiyoshi, will discover her powers of bending and will seek out the masters of the four elements to teach her.

Kiyoshi is a beautiful island with a large mountain on one end and an open beach on the other. In the middle there is much vegetation, including fire lilies. There are also a few dragons on the island, of which the people try not to bother.

NOTE: The bending masters will have to be citizens of the Kanon empire. In order to bring them together at one place, they must either live in Kanon or in one of its colonies. They will all be summoned by Lord Cain. But one of the four will be a friend of Airi before this, which will get her involved.

Before I start anything, I think I'll wait until there are enough roles filled. Here's a list of roles needed:

Age: 14

Gender: Female

Element: Earth

Appearance: My avatar is her Appearance, I'm not able to post pictures yet...


Personality: Aileana is a happy person, her sweet disposition making her easy to get along with. Though lately when she has begun to learn to use her earthbending abilities, her hyper-active self has begun to fade. Unhappy with the "curse" that she has been born with, she is easily jealous of other benders with different abilities (mostly waterbenders). Short tempered and sassy as she may seem, Aileana is sweet, generous and is always willing to help.

(I kinda want to make a lot of the personality a surpise...if that's ok)

History: Aileana came from a good family, she has a younger brother with no bending abilities, and a mother and father whom are both earthbenders. Recently her father has been teaching her earthbending. Aileana learns well and she has great talent, but her father's attempts to get her enjoy the element have fail miserably.
Growing up, Aileana was considered the perfect child, did excellent in school, and never got in trouble, but her sudden change in personality worries her friends and family deeply.
She has lost control of her powers once before, and the destruction it caused was more than she could handle. She now lives in fear of loosing control of her powers again.

^^^Good. Then you could fill the part of Airi's friend without bending. Because bending is something only a new concept in this story, there shouldn't be too much bending.

But if you want to know about bending, it's really not very difficult. I'll briefly cover the four elements.

Waterbenders can control water and become even stronger at night, especially on the full moon. They can turn water into ice or into vapor. During the full moon, experienced benders can control the water inside people or other living things. In addition, some waterbenders can also use water to heal wounds.

Firebenders can breathe fire, or shoot it from their arms or legs. These benders are strong when the sun is out, and weak at night. Their specially ability, which is limited only to experienced and gifted benders, is to fire and redirect lightning from their fingertips.

Earth benders are very simple. Their power is set no matter the conditions. But in addition to bending earth, gifted benders can also bend metal.

Airbenders are even simpler. They control the air, and they can use it to levitate, jump high, and create airbubbles for travelling underwater.

In the show, there was also the Sparky-Sparky Boom Man who could create explosions from his mind. But I never could figure that guy out.
