  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is a normal voice for an elf? Because Eleves are smaller than humans, their vocal cords would be a different length. Therefor, the pitch of his voice would be different from that of a human. Also, he's going to have an accent from whatever forest he came from.

But it doesn't really effect the storyline at all, so I won't argue.

Whether Elves are smaller or larger than humans depends on whether you look at Tolkien or D&D... besides, humans come in a large variety of sizes, and my evil healer Isliel is probably smaller than a lot of D&D Elves you'll meet!

Of course, who really gives a darn, anyway.

no it doesn't, I just don't think it's right for him to be able to tell that Kaelin's an elf just from his voice. He might guess he is, Kaelin might have a bit of an elvish accent, but you couldn't tell from the pitch of his voice. By that logic of elves being smaller so they have different pitch, hobbits would talk like chipmunks or something...

Besides if you think about it, the common language that humans speak would be a second language to any elf, so depending on where they learnt it thats what accent they would have.

There might be enough small bits of evidence for him to tell, or it might have been meant as an insult. We can go on arguing, but it doesn't really matter at all. So I'll just call him a nasty little man now.
