I'm looking for a passage in the Bible that counters this statement; not in its entirety, but with the belief that God exists within the interstitiality of metaphysics- an in-betweeness of the power of the individual; essentially, existentialism. Everything is interconnected, and thus influences outcomes, and outcomes as consequential. Therefore, it's all relative. The power of God doesn't exist in a vacuum; I believe the individual should take charge, thus coalescing the physical with the metaphysical, directing one's fate in this synchroniety. "God can help... if you help yourself first..."
