I have a yahoo email account now; have had Gmail, stopped cause of ads, and in the past Hot mail, plus too many to remember. As I no longer have a mobile phone, no longer needed, I have no way to get my password in case of a problem. Yahoo has been bugging me to send them my mobile phone number, and so far have been able to cancel these messages. So, for back-up, I thought I would sign back up with Microsoft, which is now an outlook program and had got all the way to signing back up when they wanted my mobile phone. Was able to have them send the code to yahoo but every time i hook-up it goes back to being block. went thru support chat, got canceled. sooooo.......

Is there an email online that will let me sign up without a cell/mobile phone.
Thanks for any help.

You can use Gmail and instead of phone, use another email. That should work.

Yes, I thought this too, but according to internet forums, as of july, 2014 they are requiring it for new sign-ups. As I had to fight to get out of Gmail I really don't look forward to going back. Their ads and mail spam plus being G-messaged (should be called X-messages) by complete strangers; I ran away.

I have never given Yahoo my phone number. My Yahoo Mail account was from prior to their offering that, so I don't know if my account was merely grandfathered in or not.

Yes, I didn't need a phone number to sign up, it was a long time ago, really don't remember when.
Are you now on Yahoo, do they send you messages or every once in a while when logging in send you thru a bunch of questions on pages trying to get you to send them your phone number? Will yahoo let you use another email site as back-up? I like yahoo and would like to stay there and not have to worry about password malfunctions.

I was hoping somebody knew of a little known email site that was easy to use and would take password protection from yahoo and vise a versa.

Yes, that's a fact of life now.

Maybe, I'm not sure.

Wouldn't know.

Well, I've learned some things about yahoo and Inbox email online accounts so I'll share them here, it may help others.

First, the reason I have been getting the requests from Yahoo to add a mobile phone number as a confirmation link is because I deleted my Gmail account last year and had that set up as my link for Yahoo, so it keep periodically trying to reset this.

I found this out because I signed up to Inbox.com and used yahoo as it's confirmation link and then went into Yahoo's Info link and reset my confirmation setting, finding the old G mail link. Deleted that and now both emails have each other as confirmation links; lets hope that doesn't change.

In the two days I have used Inbox, I like it; no adds in the inbox or when you are composing mail; just a small add link in the bottom of out going emails, not intrusive and using flashing adds as in yahoo. The different boxes, inbox, sent, drafts, etc; are all clearly labeled and you don't have to guess which one you are in, not like the washed out graphics in yahoo. The only problem I have had is, I sent my sister a post from Inbox and it came to her as Yahoo, com, but another recipient sees Inbox; maybe it set it up as an alias account, I don't know. As long as it works, I figure. Well I hope this helps somebody who may be having the same problem I did.
