• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Newlife Clinics which is a chain of christian counseling services has online counseling for a price. It is less than going in person of course.

I have not tried the newlife clinics online because I found that when I did the in person counseling I could get a better judge for the COUNSELOR by what he/she looked and behaved like. But the counseling itself might be better by not seeing the counselor, who may give misinterpreted body language and facial signals that are contrary to what is intended, which is confusing.

I don't have a lot dough lately though, and I think I might try one of the newlife online counselors if I need advice in the future.

Has anyone ever did any online couseling? Any recommendations?
I did the online counseling and although it was nice to do it in my own home, and not having to meet face to face, it didn't work for me. I found that I did much better, although it was harder, to talk face to face. I found a mentor in my church who has a passion for the Lord, that is just amazing to me, and she is being God's vessel for me. I was able to let it go quicker, or even if I couldn't talk about it, I could atleast write it and then we could discuss it. It is easier to hide or give up online, but when you have someone who loves the Lord, and is willing to help hold you accountalbe, it's better. Im not saying online doesn't work, it really depends on how disciplined you are. Im not very disciplined at all, so it didn't work for me, and it may depend on your situation.

I hope this helps some, not to discourage you, but really pray about it also, it may work for you.

If you have any question feel free to pm me!

I did not do the online counsiling before but I feel that it can work for some people. You know people are different...some when they have a problem they prefer to talk to somebody face to face then they feel relieved and satisfied. Others just need someone who can listen to them only...it means that listening can relieve them a lot..so thats part of solving their problem. So I think it can work
God bless
