• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

is there anywhere that I can confess my sins online?
Is it even recommended?
I am moving soon and cannot ask my local church I’ve been going to.
Thanks
Scripture states that we should confess our sins to one another, whether that means a fellow believer in general, or the ones you may have sinned against in particular is unclear. If there is someone on this forum you might trust to be a true believer in Christ, then see if that person is willing to hear your confession. But it still seems that we should probably admit the wrongs we've done to others directly to those we've wronged.

Out of curiosity, where are the greener pastures you're heading to?

IIRC if you are looking for a Catholic absolution the answer is "no", Sacraments cannot be given over the internet - unless things have changed since I last researched it. You can confess online, or by telephone, but the absolution needs to be in person, or at least that used to have been the case.

Hello and welcome to CF. Good news! You may confess your sins to the Lord and He will forgive you. 1 John 1:9 states: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

With regard to making amends or confessing to someone you've wronged, I've hold off on that until you have a new pastor or mentor to guide you. But you can admit your sin to the Lord now and He will forgive you. So many of us have found great relief from these words. I think that you will too.

You mentioned going to Germany. I lived many years there when I was stationed at various places. We had a great time and it's still a neat place.

If you'd like to open a thread in Ask a Chaplain or pm me please feel free. I pray the very best for you and yours. God bless you.

Faithfully,
