Even though it was I who posted the CARM article, I wanted to add a sidelight and a little piece for all to chew on.

Elohim in Genesis 1:26 can be considered a discussion between G-d and the angels: a heavenly counsil, if you will. Some hold this belief and some do not.

However, the part that I wanted to give you to chew on takes this a step further.

I have below two verses:

John 10
33 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for (1) blasphemy; and because You, being a man, (2) make Yourself out to be God."
34 Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in (3) your (4) Law, '(5) I SAID, YOU ARE GODS'?
35 "If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

And the verse the Y'shua is referencing:

Psalm 82
5
They (1) do not know nor do they understand;
They (2) walk about in darkness;
All the (3) foundations of the earth are shaken.
6
I (4) said, "You are gods,
And all of you are (5) sons of the Most High.

7
"Nevertheless (6) you will die like men
And fall like any (7) one of the princes."

I have added verses on top and bottom of the Scriptures in question for contextual reasons.

Offer up your thoughts, if you have any.

Among the respected “Church Fathers,” Unitarians included, most notably, Origen, Clement of Alexandria, and Gregory of Nyssa.

Wrong!! All 3 were Trinitarians. Where did you get the idea they were Unitarian?
Wrong! They were Unitartian.

Try any search engine, punch in "origen clement gregory nyssa unitarian" and see what you find.

Well to say that Origen was unitarian, is somewhat different than to say he was oneness. This is because unitarian theology and oneness theology are different. To the point where in the modern day unitarians can hardly even be considered christians. It is their very unitarian ideas which cause men like Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson to be recognized by many today as deists, but not christians.

Unitarian theology generaly emphasizes the humanity of Jesus (to the point in the modern were it often denies his divinity) and it is pluralistic teaching that everyone will be reconciled to God in the end. Origen in his teachings did emphasize the humanity of Jesus and he did tend towards the idea of universal salvation (even for the devil and his angels) however, he was not oneness. In fact origen was one of the "innovators" behind the doctrine of the trinity. He was one of the first people to formalize a doctrine of the trinity.

To clarify: I am using the word "unitarian" in the broadest general sense to identify those who believe that God is one person and, therefore, reject the Trinity. In that broad sense it would include Onness Pentecostals as well as members of the Unitarian Church.
