One thing I don't understand about the creationist position

You believe the Bible is wrong?
Of course. It describes things that I don't find truthful or accurate.
I do not think the terms of service allows for that.
No, they don't.
But feel free to try to prove the Bible is wrong.
*THAT* is against the terms of service.
Usually people just do not understand what the Bible is telling us.
The modern translations says that fountains are natural springs. Natural Springs: In a broader sense, a fountain can also be a natural spring of water that issues from the earth 1. These natural fountains can be found in various landscapes.
Mine says "All the fountains of the great abyss burst forth and the floodgates of the sky were opened." The abyss is the great subterranean ocean of Semetic cosmogeny. It does not exist.
I have been looking for a scientific explanations for windows of Heaven but have not found one yet. Water falls from the sky because of gravity.
After in condenses out of vapor into droplets.
Some things are just unknown.
We know how water gets into and falls from the sky.
I do study rocks and how water forms and shapes them. It is very easy to balance rocks. I do that quite often. Their balance point is not always where you think it should be.

That is cool, but irrelevant.

You kinda admit that your understanding of the Bible is wrong. I have found all in the Bible to be true.
I don't care about the bible. It is just an old religious text and I don't care about religion. It bores me.
There is a connection between how water forms a rock and gravity.

Is "true" the same as "accurate"?

Water can't form a rock, btw.

See if you can figure it out. Give us a hypothesis or two.
My only thought was that Hans Blasta is so keen to try to show Christians how ridiculous (in his view) their faith is that despite him self-describing as an atheist, he has spent time and trouble writing sixteen thousand plus messages on this Christian forum.

Swing and a miss, nice try though. Everything that moved does not define flesh.

Ace, let me give you some good advice, my friend.

Stop trying to define things from such a narrow perspective as science.

Get a good dictionary (suggestion: 1938 Webster's) and look it up.

Here's the definition, from the Online Etymology Dictionary:

Flesh:

Old English flæsc "flesh, meat, muscular parts of animal bodies; body (as opposed to soul)," also "living creatures," also "near kindred" (a sense now obsolete except in phrase flesh and blood),

Do you see that part that says "also living creatures"?

That's a swing and a hit. ;)

Flesh define a sub catagory of all that moved.

Don't try to make this harder than you can understand.

Or you'll succeed.

So it is all flesh that we are talking about. Not all that moved.

Whatever.

We see this word used a LOT in Genesis.

Nice.

We see in Genesis 6:12 "And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth."

Yup.

This is an interesting choice of words: "all flesh had corrupted his way". Is all that moved a "his"?

Please don't try to make this harder than you can understand.

Or you'll succeed.

But lets follow your logic. You say God destroyed everything on the earth.

The Bible said it first though.

Does earth now mean dry land or was everything in the ocean destroyed somehow in the flood?

I'll go with dry land.

Also if God destroyed everything that was NOT on Noah's ark then where do all the animals come from that were not on the Ark?

Good question.

He must have not destroyed everything that was not on Noah's ark.

Like whales and stuff.

Look at the Pacific Islands are unique places scattered across the Pacific Ocean, known for their beauty and rich biodiversity.

Ya -- I've lived there before.

Every island has their diversity of things that move.

Okay.

Even if they were on Noah's ark how did they get to their individual island?

There were no islands during the Flood.

Only one giant one.

In academic circles, it's drawn like this:

Do you really think there was a Monitor LIzard on Noah's ark?

Sure -- why not?

Science does not argue against a God creating the natural laws or the laws of physics.

Ask one why.

And if you can find one that is willing to give you an honest answer (as opposed to an academic one), good luck.

Do you see what section we're in? Is religion the topic here? (Work it out for yourself.)

Then why are you on a religious site if it bores you?

I like Hans.

He's a rare commodity around here anymore.

He's on a crusade to right our wrongs.

And I'd be disappointed if he left.

It's people like Hans that keep us sharp.

It's a trade-off.

He keeps us sharp; and we keep him convicted.

You already said that.

But you offer no hypothesis as to why other than
implying that he is a phony.

May I ask why YOU and your cheering section post
where you will encounter ( shudder) atheists with pov
quite different from yours?

Bonus points if you can say why
you choose to ascribe such base
and ignoble purpose for his, (or my)
posts.
