ONE STEP AT A TIME​

But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. (Exodus 23:29‑30, NIV)​

As the Lord leads us into the spiritual territory he has bought for us, we are taught how to move ahead and take possession of this land.

He teaches us in practical everyday terms how to “cast all your anxiety on him” (1 Peter 5:7), what it means to “participate in the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4), to “enter God’s rest” (Hebrews 4:9‑10) and to accept the concept that “his power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

He enables us to get our minds around the facts that having received “the gift of righteousness” we are to “reign in life” (Romans5:17) and that “his divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life” (2 Peter 1:3).

And so we could go on.

He leads us through these stages one by one, in his way and in his time. He has planned a different path for each one of us.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures, ​

he leads me beside quiet waters,

he refreshes my soul. ​

He guides me along the right paths

for his name’s sake. (Psalm 23:1‑3, NIV)​
