  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. (Exodus 23:29‑30, NIV)

As the Lord leads us into the spiritual territory he has bought for us, we are taught how to move ahead and take possession of this land.

He teaches us in practical everyday terms how to “cast all your anxiety on him” (1 Peter 5:7), what it means to “participate in the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4), to “enter God’s rest” (Hebrews 4:9‑10) and to accept the concept that his power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

He enables us to get our minds around the facts that having received “the gift of righteousness” we are to “reign in life” (Romans5:17) and that “his divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life” (2 Peter 1:3).

And so we could go on.

He leads us through these stages one by one, in his way and in his time. He has planned a different path for each one of us.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake. (Psalm 23:1‑3, NIV)
