One-sided submission

Howdy,

I was just looking to open a discussion on the concept of one-sided submission, after reading through another thread here.

Speaking from a strictly biblical standpoint, what should a spouse do when they find themselves in a situation where their spouse refuses to submit to their God-given roles in life? How can one help the other? What should be done when the errant spouse is uninterested in changing their behavior? What are good ways to support and reward positive behavior?

But first - what do you consider proper biblical submission to be? References would be appreciated...

I'd love to provide examples and such, but I don't have the ability right now. I'm out of town on vacation. Hopefully other folks would like to talk on the subject though, in my absence.
