One more question

From the perspective of someone with BPD:

if the person with BPD suddenly turns on a friend or mentor, what is the person with BPD thinking/feeling towards that other person?

If the BPD person then attempts to reconnect but the bpd's treatment towards the other person isn't the same, e.g. negative, what is the BPD's take on that person - someone to take advantage of?? Why would the BPD try to re-establish a contact but treat the other person disrespectfully in the process?

These are probably very confusing questions! Just trying to understand. Any input you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I think its that they are not thinking or feeling. Supposedly this is a reaction learned very early in life when the child became afraid of being abandoned, and now the grown-up still reacts like a child trying to get any kind of attention at all, positive or negative
